Need help for FAM mission

When I start the FAM mission, the instructor tells me that we’re getting refueled and I should tell him when I’m ready (press space bar) BUT the jet is off and so I started her up BUT Jester doesn’t ask me to align so I do not have navigation and the caution message “inertial navigation off (or something like that). What am I doing wrong?

Hey,

That's very strange because the F-4 is set to 'hot start'. As soon as you press spacebar Yank calls ground.

Make sure you don't have ANY unofficial mods installed because they tend to corrupt DCS. Also, run a slow repair and see if that helps.

BTW even if your jet was off, Jester has to ask about the alignment during startup, that's a core Phantom feature, not campaign related. So something in your install is seriously messed up, I'm suspecting mods.

thanks for your quick reply :-). I don’t ever had and have any mods installed…..just pure official things ;-). I was suspecting the same and did a normal cold start mission with the F4 and all went as expected. 
 

Yank does call ground and I get a reply plus all switches in the cockpit are set to “flight”…..only the engines are not running.

maybe some hotas switches that you have assigned are shutting it down automatically? Just guessing, because it's not the mission for sure...

try running a repair anyway. A slow one.

Jep, you were right. Guess I found the problem. I had my thrust levers in the cutoff position and I was putting them into the idle detend when the mission was already loaded and just the briefing window was open. So I guess I have to put my throttle in the correct position before I load the mission. I thought the briefing window is still good enough to do that…..
