elias5133 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) When starting up or shutting down the engines of the Grumman F14B (I only noticed this with the B), it normally sounds like a fluid, continuous change in tone volume, and frequency. After the sound bug appeared, the startup/shutdown tone of the engines only changes stepwise. It sounds horrible. I attached two audio files, one with the new bug and one where it was still normal. I already repaired and reinstalled the game and the F14 module. Tampering around with audio settings also doesn't change anything. This happens in the cockpit, as well as in the external view. The bug appeared with release 2.9.7.58923 and still exists with the latest one. The latest release where this bug wasn't present was 2.9.6.58056. The 1 minute-audio file on the right shows how it usually sounded. Bugged.mp3 Normal.mp3 Edited September 14, 2024 by elias5133 1
gulredrel Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Noticed this step down sound while shutting down the -A couple of minutes ago. Has this been acknowledged as a problem?! Current version 2.9.12.5336 From the log, don't know if this is related but looks like it coincides with my engine shoutdown: 2025-02-07 20:20:10.743 ERROR ED_SOUND (Main): invalid source_params(woLA-16840448:aircrafts/engines/tf30/tf30approachwhine_left): pitch 2025-02-07 20:20:38.789 ERROR ED_SOUND (Main): invalid source_params(woLA-16840448:aircrafts/engines/tf30/tf30approachwhine_right): pitch

JupiterJoe Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I hope when they fix this it doesn't ruin the awesome induction noise you hear when you increase throttle whilst sitting in the cockpit with the canopy open. Cgjunk2 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I’m not sure if gradient step sounds during startup is related to the loss of the turbine sound in external view. Whenever I see a tomcat fly by or taxi by me, all I hear is the sound of the rushing air expelled by the engines, but not the whining sound of the turbine. It’s been gone at least since the previous update for me. Anybody else notice this?
