Playstation VR2 and DCS only on Steam version?

I am just wondering how to play with PS VR" without buying the DCS World and some modules on Steam since I already have them on DCS Beta version. Is it possible?

Sure you can. That is is my configuration. The PS VR2 headset needs steamVR to work because SONY made a driver for that platform. Let's say this headset is native to steamVR. That gives you direct access to the entire library of games developed for steamVR and openXR. Within the steamVR runtime you can access the Windows desktop and launch any program, in this case DCS. You can also add a non-Steam game to your steam library and launch it from there, in that case don't use the DCS launcher. Enjoy!

Thank you mate! Great news!!!

Can I find an "How to" guide that explains step by step the things you stated above? I am pretty new on Steam and I see it has many, maybe too many, options where I easily get lost.

I would recommend you to watch some videos on youtube about ps vr2 installation and configuration with the pc adapter.

A step-by-step guide is also available on the playstation support site: playstation.com/psvr2-pc-usage/

The Steam platform and the SteamVR environment are very user-friendly and you will soon find yourself comfortable with them.

Where you will spend the most time is finding the settings for DCS in VR. DCS is very demanding on PC hardware resources. You have to find the right balance between image quality and a good gaming experience.

Ok, I already followed all the steps in the video link you posted above. I can access steam Vr and see all my VR games in it. The thing I cannot execute is the access to Windows desktop with SteamVR runtime... I really have no clue.

Within the VR environment you can access the steamVR dashboard by pressing the PlayStation button on the controllers. In the bottom bar there is an icon to display the desktop. In the attached image that icon is pointed out. Note: I am using the SteamVR Beta version.

I managed to do that, it looks good except I cannot play with my TM Warthog (I bind the keys with the Thrustmaster script editor). Do I have to reconfigurate all the commands?

I run PSVR2 and standalone DCS via the SteamVR -> desktop method described by Correca above. I didn't have to rebind anything, I'm just running DCS as normal except the output goes to SteamVR. I also have a TM Warthog and it works fine (although I don't use any scripts).
