Sorry, just saw this on Task and Purpose and couldn't resist...

“I think the A-10 with the depleted uranium rounds would be effective against an AT-AT and other similar equipment provided they do not have any force fields protecting them.”

Aim point matters, against the head, probably not. But vehicles are not armored equally all around. There's a lot of unarmored vulnerable looking stuff near the back. Though thats mostly because the artists just added a lot of greeble to make it more visually interesting. But, a single grenade in the undercarriage takes one of them down in the movie so I'd buy it.

The blasters on the snowspeeders are ineffective so they must be shielded. Therefore I'd say kinetic rounds would also be ineffective. But you never know. Maybe the shields only work against blasters since they are able to fly through the planetary shielding on Hoth. The shield around endor and the death star(in episode 6) is another matter. But they fly through the shield on the death star in episode 4. I think one just needs to park the brain when watching star wars(I love star wars).
