this might have worked a couple of patch cycles earlier.

what to expect:

A. designation of any NavTGT either via shkval method I-251V or fly over through on board sensors lets you save points of interest that you can slew to automatically.

B. Designating of a NavTGT via the PVI-800 creates a point of interest as would the A. method but instead of using onboard sensors, the point would be dropped directly into the Abris as per coordinate information. Both methods create NavTGT with the same functionality as A.

the result:

A. Auto slew works fine.

B. No slew at all or with a large offset. (No alignment and fixtaking method required)

although my standby SAI might have been offset I’ve tested this multiple times over the course of weeks. Even hopping into fresh helos. The shkval was never able to slew to the NavTGT if entered via coordinates. It didn’t matter if the ingress to target was selected or not.

My assumption is that this is as bug, or is it working for you with certainty? Let me know if I missed to speak a spell before slewing or something else.

Could you upload a track or a video?

Hello @Hobel

ive done more thorough testing and from what it looks it’s an issue with the maps instead of the airframe. In caucasus the auto slew was pretty much on point, in Syria although the laser seemed to center on the NavTgt the ranging was pretty much off (I’m talking km instead of m) and in AFG it’s completely off. I haven’t tested Sinai, Kola or the others. E

I was a little surprised that it worked on caucasus. Initially I thought it was because of the distance to the equator that the coordinate input was a pilots error but the coordinates where taken out of the abris. Of course I did change to DDMM.MM instead of the standard DDMMSS.

ive recorded a video but would have to edit it in order for you to not watch 30min. Still it is a problem that you can replicate with any mission. My original miz file is a blank terrain file that is auto loaded when first creating a mission from scratch. I’d you do want to see the video - I will sit down this weekend and edit it to cut out unnecessary stuff.

best regards

edit: testing environment:

new mission file with the default conditions

no wind mid day etc

shark was INU alignment forced with hot start no fix pint taking needed.

hot ground start

addition: I’ve also noticed a error message on the abris on hot start where it has not coordinate data available for approx 10s. Although this might be a different issue it should not compromise the test because the Abris will still calibrate on your position if the aircraft hasn’t moved (not in flight).

hope to hear from you soon.

it would be lovely if we could get this to work again.

Hi there,

I noticed the same issue what MortalMando described. I attached a track with the Syria map and here a link to a video for the repo steps. Captured NAV TGTs via Shkval do work fine but manually entered coordinates do not. Unless I did enter the coords wrong in the PVI-800.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.
