Aapje Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) You posted in the wrong location, this is the Pimax forum. I reported your post, so the mods can move it. There are also plenty of existing threads where you can probably find the answer to your question. For example, here: Edited October 9, 2024 by Aapje

Maddaawg Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Specs are fine, but how do you connect for DCS i.e. Meta Link cable or wireless, or Virtual Desktop. If Wi-Fi, what are your Wi-Fi specs. If USB, does it test good in the Meta software? Post screen shots of your DCS and Meta or VD settings. Starting settings should be the VR preset in DCS and then work upward from there to find your preferred settings. For Meta software, set it for 72hz and push the slider all the way to the right. Are you using any other apps or mods such as OpenXR Toolkit? MilkMan88 Posted October 13, 2024 Author Posted October 13, 2024 (edited) i am using a meta link cable and then using steam link and i tried posting in the other locations it would not let me select it at the time Edited October 13, 2024 by MilkMan88
Maddaawg Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 I've never run from Steam, so I can't help you with Steam Link. Set DCS to minimum VR with its preset, and then add options from there. If your having issues with the VR preset, then you may have a an issue with Steam Link or your PC. You shouldn't be connecting using SteamLink if connected via cable, just connect your cable and then use the Meta link app with it set to be the default OpenXR runtime if you haven't already. You can drop a DCS log here for reviewing your settings. Drop some screenshots of your Meta link app as well, e.g. what your resolution slider is set to. Personally, I would transfer DCS out of Steam cutting out that extra entanglement. You can still buy mods from steam and transfer the license to ED. Yes, DCS is in the Steam library, but you're not forced to use their OpenXR runtime. With an Oculus headset you should use the Meta OpenXR runtime as it has less overhead. Using the Standalone version of DCS (the one from the ED website) is better as well (like you pointed out) as you also get free trials of planes and apps, as well as ED miles on purchases to go towards buying other modules. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
wikz Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 hey y'all, really stupid question about the pimax crystal light which I plan on buying here soon; do you need to buy the controllers too, to operate the VR with DCS? did a search online and couldn't find anything on that. guess its just too dumb of a question? lol.
Phantom711 Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 @wikz No, you should not need the controllers for DCS. 1 vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
