DCS_moldy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Finished the campaign, what an awesome experience! Really enjoyed the structure of it, learning the various skills and then having the opportunity to put them to the test in the same campaign. Missions were well designed, well documented, and basically bug free (ran into occasional DCS issues but not the fault of the campaign). The only constructive feedback I have is that some of the background radio transmissions were a bit repetitive (you think they heard us?) but that's really it. Thanks for all the work you and Paco put in on this! Also, light spoilers for maybe my favorite mission, mission 15: Spoiler Had three attempts at mission 15. First time got splashed by the loose fishbed (missile ignored 10 flares, oh well), second time my game crashed right after push, third time I got all the way back over the boat, transitioned to Paco's right since we were overhead, replied "Hell yeah!" and then Paco immediate midair'd me. Even with all that, this mission was my favorite. Great intensity throughout, and great satisfaction once the objective was complete and we were flying back. Thanks again for the work you put into these. 2
Reflected Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback! Happy you enjoyed the campaign As for the ATC chatter - I wish I could have included a wider variety of comms, but it's just not publicly available. That's all I could find on the web. 3 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
cesarferrolho Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 So, this was my first paid campaign. I don't know how the others are in terms of structure, if they are similar or not. I had tried 2 free campaigns before. They were quite alright, not without some issues, but nothing big or terrible that totally ruins the experience, because they actually use the DCS sandbox game and its "systems". One even had a certain interesting randomness on wether you're getting attacking bandits or just "trespassers" on each mission. With this one I'm pretty dissapointed by the HEAVY scripting, mostly during the actual missions. Even an apparently simple mission of CAP can be heavily scripted with irrational things happening like, your wingman cruising along with an enemy that is attacking you, while doing nothing to help you. I apprecciate the effort and the voice work and the tactical teachings, but the gameplay should be the paramount asset. There is no dynamic campaign for DCS yet, as far as i know. This one is the exact opposite of such a concept as dynamic. ...Sorry, but i didn't like it. Just my honest, hopefuly constructive oppinion: In future ones, maybe sacrifice some voice work and let the whole thing be more natural DCS dynamic playing. I'm pretty confident it's possible to do.
Reflected Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 That’s fine, this is by far my most ‘story driven’ campaign. It’s not for everyone’s taste. Others might be better suited for you such as Fear the Bones where the AI is totally let loose. Or Zone 5. 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
