Jyge Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 (edited) I thought that foveated rendering was supposed to take the load off and enhance the clarity in the sweet spot. It is just another thing, like I said I am talking about the headset for my son. I myself have Varjo Aero and use the foveated rendering all the time, but I upgraded my PC again after giving him my HP and getting Varjo - Varjo did run initially though, but I still used it as a mental excuse and upgraded the hardware anyway (not the GPU though...) Another thing, though. I have a friend who is curious about kicking the tires on VR. A fellow flight simmer, but not on DCS. I just saw a review of Oculus 3S and I figured that for some 330 EUR it might be a good place to start. I assume here, for example that the memory option of 128 GB or something is for the internal meta games and do not influence the performance in PC play in any manner? Also another thing, I think he has an ok laptop and this is a point where I get a little bit unsure. Does anybody actually use laptop, even a heavy duty gaming laptop for flight sims and VR? Couple of years ago I would have instantly said no way, but now I am not so sure. Edited October 26, 2024 by Jyge

That is correct. It‘s just that QVFR specifically puts a little more stress on the CPU in some situations. I myself, flying the Hornet mostly, I find it still beneficial for my usecase. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.

Correct. It's only internal storage for games to be loaded from the metastore to the headset. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now!
