I have a server running on one of my home systems, with ServMan and ModMan, but I never see it in the server list when I view it on one of my other systems. No one has ever joined one of my games and I do not think that anyone else can see it. I can join a game on my server if I use IP but how do I get it on the server list so others who do not know my IP can browse and join.

Please explain what I have to do to get my server on the big server list...

Before you start the server there is an option "server type" that says LAN or INTERNET, switch it to internet. Also be sure you have your port forwarder correctly and your firewall is not messing it all and also the IP you'r setting up in the server manager is the right one.

I'm sure you selected Internet...

Forward port 10308 for both TCP and UDP. You can access you modem/router setup via address 192.168.2.1 (or similar 192.168.y.z) in Internet Explorer. If you don't know how to do this, contact you ISP's tech support.

Your clients will have to connect to your external IP address (automatic via the server browser - not manual entry).

When you create your server you will only see local addresses (192.168.*.*). If there are multiple, select the one that matches the first three numbers of your router/modem's IP: 192.168.y.*

As a note, the industry standard is 192.168.0.1, afaik, not .2.1. That aside, the manual for your router should indicate the procedure. If you do not have a manual, check for it's exact model name which is usually found on a sticker together with it's certifications on it's underside or rear. Then google for it - there are many sites up there that specialize in manuals for both new and old hardware. (I found the manual for one of mine that way.)

If you are behind several layers, such as an ADSL modem/router first and then a second router , you will need to ensure that the relevant ports are sest up correctly for both. (I have that setup, with the first one on 192.168.0.1 and the second one on 192.168.2.1, separating my private LAN from the office upstairs that I'm leeching my internet off of. :P )

Lastly, do note that it is a EULA violation to run the simulation simultaneously on several computers with just one license. I doubt anyone's going to come chasing for you, but if you are intending to set up a dedicated server box the procedure is to have a separate license for that install.

Sounds like you know your stuff... I have two different IPs for both my computers 192.168.1.3:10308 and 192.168.1.2:10308 and the port setting in game is default. I can see my server computer on my client computer but only in the LAN view. But I am not sure what you are telling me. Are you saying the my router is limiting my multiplyer games to a LAN even though everything IS set to internet? If so how do I break out past the router through the modem and on to the web? I can see and join internet games as a client on both computers.

You will need to explain.....Please, step by step oh mighty JEDI!

1) Find the phone number for your Internet Service Provider's Technical Support or Customer Assistance.

2) Call your Internet Service Provider.

3) Ask them to assist you in forwarding port 10308 for both TCP and UDP, so you can play multiplayer games online. They should know what you want.

Just in case - I've noticed that some communication to the "DCS master server" is using TCP/UDP 10307 - you may want to open that as well.
