Scendore Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 After the recent patch I had a ton of Shuttering and never understood the reason why. In the latest patch 1214 it seems there is something going on with the FPS performance setting FPS in the game and the refresh rate of the headset. Changed my refresh rate to 72 for Meta Quest 3 wired Changed my FPS slider in game to 75 if I was on 70 it had a very consistent stutter, Made a huge difference for whatever reason. If you use OXRTK to limit FPS you can gradually drop from 75Hz and see the stutter kick in at 71/72Hz. Just leave FPS uncapped. 1 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).

I've set 90hz within the oculus software, using OXRTK toolkit (turbo on) and no capped fps, not in the sim, not in the nvidia settings and the fps slider is set to 300fps. That's the best setting for my rig to make the game run smooth. But iam not sure if there is still needed to set low latency mode to ultra (nvcp), also prerendered fps 1, because what i read about it, when turbo mode is enabled it runs fps as fast as possible by ignoring this settings. 1 i9-9900K / Bios Profile XMP2 / Rog Strix Z-390F Gaming / ASUS TUF Geforce RTX 4070Ti Super / 32GB HyperX Fury 2666 / Saitek X52 HOTAS / Pico 4
Scendore Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 Ill have to try upping the FPS slider in game. There is a very slight hicupp very but it's there. My line of thinking was the not try and hammer the system to see if that would help and it seems quite the opposite. Perhaps the capping creates problems with the pipeline.
LOW_Hitman Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Today i turned off HAGS on my system again after re-enabling it after the last patch. A way smoother experience and less micro stutters. Give it a try! 2 i9-9900K / Bios Profile XMP2 / Rog Strix Z-390F Gaming / ASUS TUF Geforce RTX 4070Ti Super / 32GB HyperX Fury 2666 / Saitek X52 HOTAS / Pico 4

You system is limited by the headset refresh rate so will never go above 72 fps. There is no reason the cap above 72. Anything below refresh rate will result in stuttering unless you enable reprojection (ASW). 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
Silver_ Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 The DCS FPS limiter is not the best option apart from the fact that it does not allow you to set exactly 72, so you have to leave it at maximum (300 FPS) and limit it externally with the NVIDIA graphics options (this allows you to set it to 72). Personally, if I use a reprojection (ASW) with 72, it is good to limit it to this value, although in reality we will then obtain exactly half (72/2= 36 Fps) for a more fluid experience. I stopped using OXRTK a long time ago because it seems that DCS is now more oriented to QVF, for this reason I make the limitation in NVIDIA's own options.
