flyingscotsman Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 I watched Casmo TV guide for changing radio frequency. Great I need to get to Creech ATC 118.300, I brought up the correct radio, on the pilots side. (I forgot to write down the channel number) so channel 12 is 118.000 Deleted it. Started to Add and I'm offered 12 and insert 11..... stuck there. Cannot input the 8 digit, cannot get it back to previous (probably obviously) but kinda stuck now. Any assistance appreciated, thank you
Red Dragon Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I am getting the same issue. I can delete a frequency from memory DEL > 2 > ENTER, but when adding a new frequency ADD > 2 > ENTER, I can get the radio to accept the memory number and prompt me to input a frequency 50.2 > ENTER but when I press enter the display shows and flashes ERR??? I cannot CLR or do anything from there !!

TL;DR: After typing the frequency [502] • use the MFK Right Arrow Key (adds a space at the end of the frequency digits) • then ENTER (fills in the missing zeros and moves cursor to the channel name field) • type channel name if desired • then ENTER Detail Your procedure to change/edit FM1 Channel 2 would be • ADD > 2 > ENTER • 502 > MFK Right Arrow > ENTER • ENTER Comment Using "MFK Right Arrow" after entering a frequency appears to be a "work around" for a DCS Kiowa bug, as the OH-58D Operators Manual (2001) makes no mention of it's use when adding or editing frequencies. OTOH it's also possible DCS is modelling newer avionics behaviour ?
