[Audio] volume of sonic boom deafening despite low World slider setting

I have set the Audio sliders so that the cocpit is equally loud (or even louder) to the loudest external audio sound. This works reliably except for sonic boom flyby's. For the recording I have set the volume so that it's near the limit of comfortability for me. I had to remove the headphones at least partially before initiating the external flyby.

Over-ear headphones

Same with speakers.

It doesn't matter.

I think there are two flaws in your attempt:

1) The loudest you hear in the cockpit will be something different than outside and not necessarily the same perceived volume (due to the canopy and helmet and other sound deafening material)

2) A sonic boom is extremly loud

Also, what exactly is the point of your post?

Do you want a seperate volume setting for the sonic boom? Is the cockpit sound too loud? Is the external sound too loud?

The sonic boom is several times louder in DCS on my end than comfortable level for any other external audio, including 2 meters from active afterburners. It even caused me an ear ringing once when I switched from high in-ckockpit volume (still in comfortable zone). Before you start to amuse me by explaining to me how in real life sonic booms are mighty loud - games use audio dynamic range compression.
