Can't access multiplayer servers

Hi all,

Can anyone assist me to understand why I'm not able to get past the load in screen to any multiplayer servers in the list (pass or non pass servers)

I can see the load in screen complete via the progress bar and read Mission Load Done but from there nothing and if I click on the screen it defaults to DCS is not responding. If there is anyone who can decipher my log I'd be really greatfull for the help in pin pointing the issue. I have done a clean install of DCS which has not helped any.

My system specs is

AMD 79503DX Nvidia 4090 64 Gig of Ram

@waistcat Wrong log. That's the log for the launcher. The Dcs.log is the correct file.

Thanks for the reply, then It's not a fault with DCS I assume as there is no DCS error log in the Log folder.

That's a leap of faith! The DCS.log is not an error log only. It logs basically everything! If you don't have it, something is very wrong indeed. Are you sure it's the correct log directory, in case you've had multiple installations in the past.

Sorry Max, mislead you there I think. I have the DCS log but looking at it there isn't any errors showing on it. I can open DCS in SP just not MP

No worries. With your specs it should not be a problem at all. Unless you have a bad connection or IC issues. Any mods? That and IC issues should show in the log. The log is emptied after every launch of DCS, while the previous one is kept as a bak/old file I think.

I have removed the mods folder prior to the re-install of DCS so the files have no mods or shouldn't have. IC? not that I can see, I'm able to use the connection for any websites etc and the speed test I carried out was 956mbps.

Max, I Should have said I tested the DNS setting of 8.8.8.8 but to no avail

Does DCS crash to the desktop when you try to enter the MP servers?

Yes it does Max, Its windows telling me that DCS has crashed and once I acknowledge that DCS is closed and to the desktop

Ah, that's why the log ends abruptly.
There should be some zip files with the error logs there too. I'm going out now, but post the latest one, and I'll have a look later, or someone else might beat me too it.

Really appreciate the help. I went searching for the zipped logs but didn't see them but whilst checking the latest DCS log (i've tried to load in again) I got a far more extensive log this time.

^ that is a bit odd, can you try running the MT exe directly ?

 

failing that try a full dcs repair

Thanks HC, I’ll give it a go when I’m back at my system. I have done a full DCS repair prior to posting my issue.

No mate I don’t. The only files I see is the CEF, DCS, and DCS-OLD logs

Tell me about it. So frustrating. DCS is a fresh install of DCS so I've only checked the SP function with a very basic flight. I havent reloaded any of my mission files yet because of the problem.

Whhaaaooooh, I'm in to MP. Did a scan of windows, had some corrupt files which were repaired. Tried again and although appeared like an age to load, I got into a server.

I'll now trial it and see if this is working properly. In the meantime thanks Max and HC for taking the time to help.
