I dont think all servers will allow you to get ATC views really.

Most of the time you are limited to exports on your own aircraft, if anything at all.

Yes ... I asume that it can be used on wrong way ... but ok, I will try to do something just for fan, and may be my team will used it when I show them ... thank you for help any way ;)

Renato71, one of the main responsible of the group in which I reported (lockonhr.com , = CVFS = (1st Croatian Virtual Fighter Squadron)) warned me that my issue could be wrongly interpreted, and it sounds like I'm interested in cheating ... which is easily possible with the data about which I was talking. So I just wanted to state that really want to study more about LUA Export in order to involve some new functions in LockON and to make hang on with my group (on our server) even more interesting.

We are currently trying out something with LOATC, but in this case, two members can not fly if the are controllers, or if they have an extra monitor and control the fly, then can't be given to any one detailed.

By the way, I would ask how can I know the number of mine aircraft or anyone from the group? I mean on the number that is selected when arming the aircraft, when the skin is selected, it is possible to define the number of aircraft. Can I get it with LUA Export? Is it perhaps contained in the object ID?

Regards!

My 5 yr old laptop can run a few LEAVU2 (4-6) displays at full FPS(30-50), but it is also a quite powerful laptop. (1st gen core duo)

The main performance problem in leavu2 are the JOGL-native calls that I cannot affect, but maybe we will upgrade to a newer JOGL

interface in the future which could improve performance.

Thanks for your explanation! I'll try and see if it works, hopefully tomorrow.. Does the ADI work with DCS:BS if I alter the export.lua from BS?

i dont see why not, but I have it split into multiple scripts. You'll need to check all

Ok I'll see what I can do.. I just tested your beautiful program in portrait mode (orientation of the screen) but it doesn't want to rotate the displays. They remain in landscape mode. I use my laptop in portrait mode. Is this a windows issue or isn't it possible to rotate OpenGL screens?

By the way, I'd like to thank you and others for all your hard work, this app is awesome!!

Something could be up with your rotation or drivers.

I use 180 degree rotation on my touch screen because I have it mounted upside down,

it works fine with leavu2 for me. (small screen below my main monitor in my sig pic)

Are you saying your windows desktop is rotated but Leavu2 is not?

Works for me in portrait mode, so I guess it could be a driver issue(?):

Sidenote: I must say that GLLines look like sh*t with ATi cards. My GTX260 has much better image

quality in leavu2 than my ATi HD4870. Image above is on the ATi card since the nvidia machine is

packed ready for moving. (im moving)

I think it's a drivers issue in that case.. I'm using modified graphic card drivers because the card isn't windows 7 compatible. (Geforce FX5200 Go)

As soon as I switch to portrait mode, the border with the buttons rotate, but the graphic part doesn't. It floats somewhere on the screen in orientation mode. I'm very happy with the performance, although I'm not sure if the program will need more resources once connected to FC2.0

If you try some other openGL or Direct3D program in portrait mode,

do you get the same problem?

I did some testing and none of my OpenGL applications work in portrait mode. BSVP however works perfect. And if I'm not mistaken that's a Direct3D app right? So I think D3D works and OpenGL sadly doesn't. I also tried the mirrored landscape mode, but the problem resists.

Thanks for you support!! I'll just make a new stand/frame for my laptop and use it in landscape mode.

I'm not sure what BSVP uses. does it even use HW acceleration?

Did some more testing today.. Seems that some application in D3D can display in portrait mode, and some don't. Apps which start in fullscreen crash. All the OpenGL applications that I tried, just won't work in portrait. Seems that this is a drivers issue, because I can use Leavu on my normal pc in portrait orientation without problems.

Can't wait to try it this evening!!

Hi Yoda

Thanks for your work on LEAUV2. I am new to Lockon and FC2 and this forum. I have downloaded all the files from your first post and follow your instruction. However I am not able to get it to work. Maybe I have missed a few steps. Can you help?

Here is my configuration.

My lockon FC2 is installed in my desktop (OS is XP home). In that computer I have copied the files from Yoda Export folder to the FC2 config/export folder in my c drive in my desktop. This desktop is linked to my router. From your Leauv folder I have copied the four files: leavu_fcn.lua, netsec.lua, export.lua and netclient.lua into the FC2 config folder. The export.lua overwrites the installed export.lua.

For display of the instruments, I am using a laptop (OS is vista home) which is wirelessly connected to router. I have made sure I have the Java VM installed. I copied the JAVA and Sound folder and put it in c:\leauv\. In my windows\system32, I have copied the 6 dll files from the jre32 dll folder.

I am not using the ERI radar at the moment.

After doing all the above, I start my FC2 in my desktop. In my laptop I went to the Java folder and can see the LEAVU executable and click it. I get the LEAVU screen where I can click instruments, connect Sim and Connect Dlink and Open chat. I click instruments and add loF15 MFD. I get the MFD window on my laptop. Then I click connect Dlink. From what I can see the two computer, Desktop and Laptop is not linked to each other.

Am I missing some files for the desktop or host computer? Is there an executable for the desktop or host computer. I am not sure what inputs to put in the Sim host and port box, and the datalink host and port box.

Manage to get it to work. I have set up 2 7inch LCD to my laptop, so I have 3 screen or 3 MFD - the FCR, RWR and HSD Just one thing though, it seems the update rate is lagging or slow. Not sure if it is my laptop. However I have no problems running falcongauges for falcon AF with this laptop. The data sampling rate there is 50 ms interval. Is it possible to increase the datalink sampling rate? Thanks for the work Yoda. I will try the ERI radar.

The data sampling rate of leavu is the same as your ingame fps, but currently capped

at about 30-50 fps (you can unlock this yourself). I am running it myself around 30 fps

for leavu and also have it on my laptop.

You find it lagging?

Are you using some wireless connection for it?

What is your ingame fps?

Your leavu screen should look virtually indistinguishable from the game, even if running on

a separate computer. What s the performance of your laptop?

Hi Yoda

My ingame FPS is around 60 and 30 when flying low level. I am testing it in the F15 quick mission. My setting is high for every option.

My laptop is connected wirelessly. The reception is good as the router is just a few feet away. I will try to link a wire to it and test it out.

How do you unlock the FPS?

My laptop is HP notebook, intel core 2 Duo cpu T5550 @ 1.83 GHz, ram 2 GB. The graphic device is Mobile Intel 965 Express chipset. Not running anything on it except leauv2

Go into 'LEAVU_fcns.lua' and set 'g_netUpdateDt' to 0

Maybe your laptop is having problem with the OpenGL graphics?

Can you test what FPS (fraps) leavu runs at without being connected? (should be 10 fps without connection)

Hi Yoda

Problem solved. It is caused by being wirelessly connected to the router. I have now connected my laptop to router by wire and there is no lag.

Another thing is, can the setting in leavu be saved? I have to key in my ip for the sim host and datelink host every time when i start leavu2. Is there a way to save this ip instead of having the local host each time?

In a later version probably.

Right now I'm happy it works without crashing :).

Will work on preset/saved settings when I get time.

Hi Yoda

Oh, I was flying single player. Today as I doing trial and error to get leavu working, I thought you need to start up the leavu datalink host on the game computer and in the laptop I click both the sim and datalink connect. Based on your question, i now realized that i only need to click connect to sim in leauv2.. Doh!

The datalink program and the leavu2 program can connect to each other as far as I can see. Maybe one day I will try it out on another computer.

One question about the instrument. What does loF15Hud do?

Can leavu program be used with the A10. It will great if it can display the maverick screen. Is it possible to get the other instruments too?

igorry

Posted

would be a lot of for work someone to implement more instruments.

I currently don't have the time, way too much work.

yes with datalink you can play many people together and see each other.

For other AC it might display wierd stuff, the navigation(HSD) screen on the MFD

probably works but I suggest not trying anything else. The MFD instrument was

basically made for the F-15.

The ADI (test instrument) works for any aircraft.

The HUD is just a test, it does not display anything, just a black screen

Hello Yoda

I got LEAVU2 working great on my second monitor and wanted to thank you for a great product. I would like to know how it is possible to set it up on my monitor (21inch) 2 MFD's, 1 for HSI and the other for my TEW's. I am not sure how to do that, do I go to "instruments" click loF15hud 2 times and crop or something? thanks mate.
