rocket302 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 (edited) Hi, first off i want to state what i have running DCS so you all know my specs. - Ryzen 9 3d, Nyvida rtx 4090, 64Gb, 6T ssd drive, basically should be a creaming machine. - i am using VR with Meta Quest 3 and pc link cable at 72hz, 90hz and tried 120hz ok, my issue is that after Dec's build i am now getting pauses in the game that look like loading stuff maybe... i just can't tell. i keep flying the same profile with 'caucasus f-16 take off from runway' each time changing different profiles. i even made sure my forest, and other graphics were min. during take off from the runway i notice a big pause, and right after i get off the ground. after that i pretty much start over with a diff profile. - i've turned on/off game graphics acceleration, I turned off anti-virus, i turned on/off page cache and even set it to 32gb, at this point i've just don't know whatever to try any ideas? Note that this may not resolve your issue. Hot plug Events Disable hot plug in your DCS CONTROLS section, it's the button at the bottom right of the controls settings. If you plug in new controllers in the future you can click the "Scan devices" button. This will prevent DCS from constantly scanning for new USB devices, which can lead to stutters. Advice In Windows: Disable Game Mode Disable Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling Tuning Tips Disable civil traffic. Consider using DLAA. Errors Error attempt to index local 'accel' (a nil value) Line 69 Script C:\Users\game\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua Can you expand a little on "pausing and loading". Do you mean like lengthy stutters? How long are the pauses? After the initial take off does the game become smooth again, or this continues to happen throughout the flight? You could also drop your preload radius down as well, it's currently 100000. You could drop to 60000 so that it is loading less map and textures (possibly unnecessarily) into RAM when you first start. Have you also tried removing your custom mods, deleting your Saved Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 folders and seeing if this makes a difference? rocket302 Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 hey thanks guys for helping, means a lot to me. 1. yes i can disable the hot plug 2. i think i already have game mode off and hardware accelerated GPU scheduling off. 3. DLAA, while i like how its more smooth, it causes a bunch of ghosting so i've been using MSAA, however the issue is the same regardless. 4. yes i have deleted the fxo, and metashaders folders. 5. i did drop everything down to min (preload, detail etc) but it still does this pause loading. yes, the Pause and loading happens a couple times that i can see in my testing. i say testing because i play the same mission over and over and fly the same route just testing different settings. basically i run the f-16 take off from runway in caucasus map. i take off and turn to the right to merge with the f-16 there, then proceed to fly over a town. the first pause/shutter is while i'm on the runway ready to take off. Sometimes i can see the hours glass show. the next major stutter is just as i leave the runway and pass the c-17, i also get a pause at the merge, i have seen a pause also over the town. i did go an defrag my ssd and optimized it and it seems like it might be a little better but still not fully fixed. these make me wonder what is going on? 2024-12-23 00:51:39.393 ERROR_ONCE DX11BACKEND (19248): texture 'lightPalette.tif' not found. Won't solve your overall problem, however if you download the latest DLSS 3.8.10 version and replace the nvngx_dlss.dll file in both the bin and bin-mt folders with that then it should reduce the ghosting. This is especially true of DLSS, but should apply to DLAA as well. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
