Hey guys,

New to the forum and can't figure out what's going on with my X52 and my new computer. Just got a new rig, I7 CPU, vista 64 bit and just can't get my X52 to work. I've downloaded the new drivers, it's showing active in my icon tray, but Black Shark, FSX and FS9 will not recognize a profile. So in short I have a basic joystick but am unable use all the buttons. Yes, I've loaded a profile and when I make the key depression it registers on the X52 MFD according to the profile but the desired effect does not happen in the game.

Any help would be appreciated. BTW, Black Shark is cool...it would be even cooler if I could get my X52 profiles to work. Would a wireless mouse and keyboard cause the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Paco

When you go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Game Controllers ... Is your Saitek X52 listed?

Assuming it is, if you open that up, do the buttons and axis, etc. all test correctly?

You mentioned drivers, but what version of the profiler (SST) software are you using? (Does it create .dat files, or .pro files?) You WANT the latest beta version of the SST software available from Saitek (check their forum announcements for a link). It includes differentiation between left and right shift/alt/ctrl keys, which is necessary for the default key assignments of many commands in DCS:BS.

In your DCS:BS controller settings, do you see a column for the Saitek X52 (along with the keyboard and mouse columns)?

Berkut,

My X52 is listed in Windows vista on the control panel. All the buttons work on the vista test. I downloaded the driver and editor yesterday. Here's the funny thing. FSX, FS9, Falcon 4.0 AF and Black Shark all "see" the X52, it shows up as the controller from within the game. It's green in my tray, so I know Vista sees it. I created a new profile using the new editor and you were right, it creates a new file, not dat file. When I drepess the certain key it shows correctly in the MFD, but doesn't perform the function. Long story short, it loads a profile but won't activate the functions on the buttons. I've been searching the forums and it looks like others have had this problem as well.

I'll keep working, might trying reinstalling the driver and editor. Sure would make my day if I could get this figured out. I'll keep working.

Thanks for the help.

When all else fails.....reload drivers. Works now. Now I just have to get a good X52 profile.

Paco, did you try running FC as an Administrator? I had all kinds of problems with Team Speak, Track IR, LOCFG and Tacview. I don't remember haveing problems with my X-52 Pro. Nevertheless, I now run everything as administrator, including Flaming Cliffs, and everything is working just fine.
