Issue: Switch from F10 map to F1 view, Reverb only shows mirror

So, I've been having this issue for a very long time now, but usually very sporadic, so I never bothered to ask about it here. But today, in a 3 hour MP session (FYA Iraq server) it happened 5 times.. So, here's the situation:

Old pc (see signature) and running DCS on a Reverb G1 v2 (the one with the improved cable).

Every now and then (5 times today ), when I switch back from F10 map view to F1 cockpit view, my VR screen freezes a few seconds and then turns completely black (as if it switches off). But!:

When this happens, my mirror screen on my monitor keeps going. It still shows the VR image (albeit at very low framerate) and when I move around my headset, it keeps properly responding to it. I can even keep operating DCS, so I can still quit my mission and quit DCS. When I restart DCS, everything's back to normal. (Until it happens again)

I've had this happen in multiple missions (MP and SP), all maps, all modules, yet it never in any other VR games I own (I mostly play DCS though).

 

 

Does this issue sound familiar to anyone?

Is there any way to "revive" my blacked out headset when this happens? (Especially frustrating when it happens after 1,5 hour into a SP mission...)

Unfortunately I have developed the same issue, G2 with a v2 cable, but I only play sp and I am experiencing this on all maps.

The difference with me is that I have a relatively high end system and I have tried everything since the last update to put this right but to no avail. Thought it might be a sound issue at first as I was playing campaigns with a lot of voice overs and static noise, no. Then tried rolling back graphics drivers and this didn't work, nothing in the logs to suggest and thing wrong, removed all mods  etc, etc, tried a new saved games folder as well, no joy. 

I don't see this on any other vr games I have so at a bit of a loss really.

The symptoms for me are,  Graphical glitches first, ie a bit of static noise across the screen, then the black screen in the headset, but the game carries on in the mirror, press pause and then the image comes back in the headset and you carry on until it happens again.

Not sure what to try next.

Glad to hear I'm not alone on this, yet sad to hear you have the same problem..

I never tried the "pause" workaround. I'll try that next time (although that wouldn't work for MP)
