Stupid Q maybe ...Mods and where to install them .......

Collected a few mods. More recent ones seems you are supposed to install in saved games, ... Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods

Quite a few others (older ones?) seem to be needed to intall elsewhere, as into the main game folder in mods there or even CoreMods, even Bazar.

Example, i just installed DC3 (civillian) in the saved games mods and it defaults into the tech folder (not in aircraft) but i cannot find it in the game's ME.

Maybe i should install mods via OvGME and  set it up to use the main game folders instead of the saved games location ?

On my case, I always follow the instructions given by the Mod's author. A Saved Games install is preferred, because then a DCS update or repair has much lower chance of breaking the Mod, but not all Mods can work from that location, for example most Terrain and Weather Mods need to go onto the DCS program folder.

Yep, just figured that out. Only seems that mod makers are not always that clear on matters.

Example Hakeye60-s Fieseler-Storch mod seems to need an installation in the main game folder, guess due suggested by the foldering names not preset in ....\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods

If installed there it does not work..

So i guess one must use JSGME or OvGME. latter stiil seems complicated to set up right.

Guess i'll have to make 2 separate mod source folders for OvGME, one for ...Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods, and one for the .. DCS World OpenBeta\Mods folder.

You downloaded an old version of this Mod (2.7.9) ... there is a newer one that works fine from Saved Games:

The mod manager only eases the task of enabling or disabling a Mod when needed ... it won't know by itself where is the destination folder that it needs, its the user the one that needs to read that info on the Mods documentation.

Thanks a lot AGAIN!; you made me search for the Fieseler again and found this collection, WOW, now to figure out the valuable WW2 ones:

Happy days & wishes for now, 2025, and hopefully ever after!
