Add waypoint during flight

In real life, can SU-27s and other Russian planes add waypoints during their flight?
If so, will this feature ever be implemented in DCS?

This will likely not be added since it is an Flaming Cliffs aircraft.

Mission editor scripting can do this, but it will not work in multiplayer.

Depends on the airplane and their avionics upgrade. E.g. in Mig-29 we have in DCS this is pre-programmed on ground. Cockpit should have a keypad for entry of navpoint coordinates. There are various coordinate formats each with different precision.

Not really related to the original topic, but in DCS you can always use polar coordinates (hdg/distance) to navigate your Flanker.

In real life no, you are limited to what is set on the ground.
