scotth6 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have flown the training mission for AGM-65 on the Viper 100 times, and every time I can do every variation of firing the AGM-65, but when it comes to the Arctic Thunder mission 2, I cannot for the life of me get the Mavericks to lock onto the tanks. I am locked on with the TGP, within range, but the Maverick seeker is just stuck in a spot 300m away from where the TGP is locked. I have tried Auto and manual handoff, and have also tried Pre and Visual for the AGM-65. I cannot get the Maverick seeker to slew anywhere near the tanks, let alone lock on. What am I doing wrong? Is it a contrast problem due to the snow? If I'm locked on with the TGP, shouldn't the Maverick slew to where the TGP is locked on, despite a contrast issue? The Maverick seeker never moves when I lock on with the TGP.
Solution Jayhawk1971 Posted January 12 Solution Posted January 12 If you start from cold& dark, you need to boresight your Mavericks. Which in DCS is still a pain in the butt. If you start in the air, the mission loads pre-boresighted, which is why it works in the training missions. Check YouTube, there are tons of tutorials how to boresight the Mavericks in the Viper. 1 1

Thanks a lot. I just learned that, and I never knew it was a thing. Appreciate your response! 1
dave76 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) What happen to me is that i boresight mav on ground , CZ when inbound the target and i still cannot lock with the tgp and also on the mav wpn Page nor in pre neither in vis ....and if i try tò slew TD box with radar cursor in vis mode i cannot center on the thanks, It stays offset.... what i actually do is make echopoint steerpoint 6 and then fly visually to the target. i know if i select stpt 6 in the ded , the tgp will look at it as spi, so how can i have target coordinates ( to put as a new stpt or markpoint) so that tgp will look at the target steerpoint?
