ouseler Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) I recently built another rig to replace the old one. The old one ran great no problems, I just wanted to upgrade. However, Since I have ran DCS with the new rig, the GPU (the same GPU from the old rig) is only producing 30 FPS making game play less than the buttery smoothness that it was. Here is my old/new system specs: OLD SYSTEM AMD 5950X CPU, MSI Ventus 3 4080 OC GPU, Aorus Elite X570 Mobo, 32GB RAM, 4TB Samsung EVO 990 (DCS drive), Running DCS in 4K at max settings, Track IR 5 NEW SYSTEM AMD 7800X3D CPU, same GPU from old system, MSI X670E MPG Carbon Mobo, 32 GB RAM, Same drive from old system, Running DCS in 4K at max settings, Track IR 5 Things I have tried to improve my FPS: 1. Went into settings of GeForce Experience and increased the FPS slide to 120PFS 2. Checked the FPS slider in DCS (120). I surmise this is a software problem and not a hardware. Does anyone have a suggestion about what my problem is and what I can do to improve myu FPS? The_Nephilim Posted January 18 Posted January 18 did you do a clean install of Windows or did you just migrate the old windows to the new system?? ouseler Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 I found the issue in GeForce Experience. In the System Tab, there is a Hz setting for the monitor. The Monitor Refresh rate was set to 30 Hz, thus the GPU was capped at 30 FPS; makes sense. I set it to my monitor refresh rate and buttery smoothness returned!! 1 System Specs: AMD 5950X (liquid-cooled), Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro Motherboard, 32 GB RAM DDR4 3200MHz, Samsung Evo 970 Plus 2 TB, Seagate 2TB SSD, Geforce RTX 4080 GPU, Rosewill Glacier 1000W Power Supply, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS (Stick, Throttle), Thrustmaster TPR Rudder Pedals, NaturalPoint TrackIR 5 w/ProClip, (1) Vizio 40" 4K Monitor, TPLink Dual Band Wireless Card, Window 11 OS

ouseler Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM No, it doesn't suck. Now that I found the issue and can actually enjoy flying without seeing every frame, the CPU and GPU I have now at max settings (4K, max everything) are just jogging (75% max) during DCS missions. ED, bring it on. I'm ready. 1 System Specs: AMD 5950X (liquid-cooled), Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro Motherboard, 32 GB RAM DDR4 3200MHz, Samsung Evo 970 Plus 2 TB, Seagate 2TB SSD, Geforce RTX 4080 GPU, Rosewill Glacier 1000W Power Supply, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS (Stick, Throttle), Thrustmaster TPR Rudder Pedals, NaturalPoint TrackIR 5 w/ProClip, (1) Vizio 40" 4K Monitor, TPLink Dual Band Wireless Card, Window 11 OS
