  1. I did the "\" to bring up the radio menu, F6, F1, and nothing happened. What gives?
  2. I looked through the tasks and did not see aerobatics in the list. Is it somewhere other than in the list?
  3. I made a couple of practice missions ( F14 AAR and F14 Formation Flying ) to hone my skills before trying Speed and Angels Mission2. The Tanking mission is fine. I had to fine tune the waypoints a bit to get the 10 to 20 degree banking turn, but its good enough. However, I made the formation flying mission where I'm flying off an AI lead. In a straight line, things are great, but it reaches the first WP and makes an aggressive 75 to 85 degree bank toward the next WP. I've tried making the degree of course change as little as possible hoping to lessen the aggressiveness of the lead's turn, but to no avail. I have watched Speed and Angels Mission 2 many times and, though the AI lead's turn aren't always gentle, they are certainly much more gentle than my lead's turns. How did you accomplish this?
  4. Thanks for these suggestions. Option 3 may be "doable".
  5. I have made a little F14 training mission where I am practicing my parade and cruise formation flying. I have programmed in what I thought were gentle turns, but the "lead" aircraft turns aggressively no matter how minor the course change. How do I get the lead to make a gentle 10 to 20 degree bank instead of an 80 degree turn to the next waypoint?
  6. I did a straight up search for Speed&Angels in the Openbeta folder and it popped up all the files for the campaign(eventually). When I look at the file path, it says the files are in DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\Speed&Angels folder. I go to that location and no such folder is displayed. It must be hidden or something. Anyway, I'm finally able to read over the briefs now.
  7. Nah, did the cleanup and repair. I even deleted the campaign and reinstalled it. I still do not see it in the DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns folder.
  8. I cannot find the Speed and Angels folder in the Campaigns folder although I can play the mission. So the campaign files are somewhere. I noticed it when I went to review the briefing docs. Any idea? I would like to review the briefing docs prior to the hop.
  9. I am playing Event 6 and this is about my 5th time through the mission. However, I loaded it up this time after the new DCS update and I cannot hear Jester, ground crew, pilot voice, ATIS , other radio comms, no radio static when I bring up the Jester menu. However, I can hear trucks driving by, the switches when I flip them, the canopy coming down, etc. I did not have these problems before the new update. Do you think this is a bug with the new 2/21/24 update? What can I do to fix it?
  10. The other day, I was mapping binds for DCS F-15E and decided to use the slider axis on my Warthog throttle (which I hardly ever use) for the radar scan elevation. However, when tuning the axis in the DCS controls menu, I noticed that the red dot denoting the position of the potentiometer was not travelling the full span of the axis. I was only getting approx. 75% of the axis range. Usually, the slider axis detent shows the dot at center. However, the detent now shows the dot to the right of center. When I move the axis to full forward (left on the tuning graph), the dot stops the same distance from axis boundary as the dot was from the center position. When I move the slider axis full back, the red dot goes to the right boundary with more axis range to spare. It is as if the axis has shifted to the right somewhat. I have explored ways to re-calibrate this axis with DCS, but there is not way to do that that I can find. I have downloaded TM TARGET software to see if there is a calibration tool within it, but I cannot find one. Or could this be some mechanical issue. I have not cracked the throttle open to see inside. Could the "pot" just need cleaning?
  11. The wheels were choked?! Oh my gosh! What a noob move, lol. Thanks for the tip. Do you have to arm the jet as well? I got out to the range and did not have a gun.
  12. I cannot move out of ramp parking unless I use the AB. Once it "breaks loose", the brakes work fine. Has anyone else had this problem?
  13. All presets are correct. We are not on SRS. We bring the radio menus up manually.
  14. Does anyone know what the issue could be? We have tried everything and cannot get the carrier or wingman to talk to us during these missions. Missions flown so far are: Bear Intercept Defend the Fleet Tomcat meets Foxhound
  15. Hey Flappie, Here is the file you asked for in regards to my throttle slider calibration. Input.zip
  16. Since you are Mr. Fix-it: I have the slider axis on my Warthog throttle that is out of calibration. It seems to be off-center. Do you know if there is anything in DCS that can cause that or is it purely a device problem? Thrustmaster hasn't been much help.
  17. SUCCESS!!! I ran the DCS cleanup and repair and the rendering issues stopped. Thank you for your help!!
  18. Flappie suggested doing a Cleaning and Repair. And if that did not work sending him the log file. I will do that and see what happens. I am running an AMD 7900XTX GPU. Do you think that the drivers for that may be an issue for 2.9?
  19. Thanks for the suggestion Flappie. I set the FOD to 1, but it's still doing the same thing. I also tried the max setting of 2 and no change.
  20. Hey BD, I've found out that invisible carrier problem seems to be more of a DCS 2.9 or GPU driver issue or something issue. I am seeing only the AIM-9X on the wingtip and only on the Hornet, not rendered properly when I look over at it from the cockpit (this is also in addition to the invisible carrier until 3 miles away). I can zoom in on it and the rendering improves (I looked it the X when in the F-16 and everything looks fine). And this is in the CASE I Recovery training mission with the Hornet module, not your campaign. I played with the DCS system settings, my GPU settings (AMD 7900XTX), even reverted back to an earlier GPU driver when I can remember everything looking fine. To no avail. I posted the issue on the forums, but did not get any responses. Have you experienced anything like this?
  21. I am having issues with objects not rendering properly or are not visible from distance (like aircraft carriers) since I have changed to DCS 2.9 . I have adjusted my resolution from 4K back down to 2K, no change. I have adjusted my GPU settings, no change. I have adjusted my system settings in DCS, no change. These are photos from the DCS F-18C Instant Missions Case I Recovery. Below you can see that the sidewinder is not fully rendered. However, if I zoom in the rendering improves (2nd image). In the third image, I am 3.8 miles from the carrier, but all that is seen is the wake. The carrier should be very visible from this distance. In the fourth, image, the carrier pops into view at 3.3 miles, but not fully rendered. As I get closer, it fully renders. These images were captured after I degraded the resolution to 1440p from 4K. Obviously, that did not help the problem. My System is as follows: AMD 5950X, AMD 7900XTX GPU (and latest drivers), 32 GB RAM, 2TB Samsung 930 EVO Plus SSD, TM Warthog base w/ F-18 Grip, Warthog Split Throttle, TM TPS Rubber Pedals. All my DCS Settings are set all HIGH, I am not upscaling as I find it makes my image quality worse, but I am using MSAA 4x anti-aliasing to maintain good image quality. I would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on what is going on.
  22. I have been finding the in the last couple of missions, the carrier (and escort ships) is invisible until very close (within 2 miles) and then in appears not fully rendered. I see the wake but not the carrier at over 2 miles away. Plus, it appears that I had to land in a crosswind?!?. What? Carrier landings are never in a crosswind. Needless to say, I spend well over an hour flying the mission just to crash on the fantail due to almost impossible landing conditions. This is not the only mission I have encountered this on. (Sorry, for the "tone" of the message, I'm just a little frustrated with the apparent bugs). Have you had any others report these problems? What can be done to fix them?
  23. Thanks for the information. I'll try going to 2160 x 3840 and see how it goes.
