Straycat Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Hi all , Looking for some answers . I have used the Saitek Hotas X56 for a while now and have had no problems with any of the inputs Works great in DCS . My rig consists of Ryzen 5 3600 , 32 gig of ram , RTX 4060, 250gig ssd drive just for DCS world and FS2024 , Quest 2 VR and a Buttkicker Gamer . I was playing FS2024 a couple of nights ago after a windows update and noticed there were random Shutdowns to engines , Flaps engaging on their own etc and it didnt matter what aircraft it was , I gave up in the end as we all know there are bugs within FS2024 . Yesterday came the arrival of my nice new Saitek pro rudder pedals . after installing them I started up DCS world for a few Carrier Traps , after eventually getting the rudder pedals configured , even though they were not showing inputs ,only toe brakes in the mapping configurations , After waiting to roll onto CAT 3 the same things started happening , engines start to shut down , tail hook deploys , Flaps are going up and down without any input from me . I checked all controls to make sure there were no same bound inputs found a couple and removed them , eventually took off from Carrier after a couple of minutes , gear deploys on its own with engine shutting down again , I went back in joystick configuration , removed all profiles started fresh inputs and confirguration of devices , still getting the same problems , It cant be the Rudder pedals as I was getting these errors in FS2024 after windows update , All drivers are the latest that are available from Saitek . Am I missing something , I have spent a good while now trying to sort this problem to no avail , Cheers in Advance Ian
Nightdare Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Isn't the X56 a Logitech product now? Since both are on the fritz, I'm not suspecting broken wires (though interference of those might throw the HID out of whack), of course being Saitek, I wouldn't be surprised both failed at the same time Have you tried different replugging (to different) USB ports? LucShep Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) Hi Ian, Logitech (Saitek) X56 is basically same thing as the old Saitek X55 minus compatibility issues solved for newer OS's. Some things to do to for the X56, be it the Logitech or Saitek versions: Make sure to connect the X56 through a self-powered USB HUB, and same thing for the pedals. No need for expensive ones, cheap ones like TP-Link UH720 ($25.00) are absolutely fine. LEDs always OFF in the Logitech X56 Profiler software (download here), pretty much a requirement to avoid any issues. if ghosting and jittering problems occur (usual in throttle and rotaries), do the following for both the throttle and stick (maybe pedals too?). Use Vjoy +Joystick Gremlin and follow this tutorial (see also video description for software links): Edited January 20 by LucShep CGTC - Caucasus retexture | A-10A cockpit retexture | Shadows Reduced Impact | DCS 2.5.6 - a lighter alternative Spoiler Win10 Pro x64 | Intel i7 12700K (OC@ 5.1/5.0p + 4.0e) | 64GB DDR4 (OC@ 3700 CL17 Crucial Ballistix) | RTX 3090 24GB EVGA FTW3 Ultra | 2TB NVMe (MP600 Pro XT) + 500GB SSD (WD Blue) + 3TB HDD (Toshiba P300) + 1TB HDD (WD Blue) | Corsair RMX 850W | Asus Z690 TUF+ D4 | TR PA120SE | Fractal Meshify-C | UAD Volt1 + Sennheiser HD-599SE | 7x USB 3.0 Hub | 50'' 4K Philips PUS7608 UHD TV + Head Tracking | HP Reverb G1 Pro (VR) | TM Warthog + Logitech X56
Straycat Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 (edited) Hi Guys , Mine are the Logitech sorry for the confusion , I bought the Logitech pro X56 only 3 months ago as my X52 gave up the ghost , and are the newer ones with the silver graphics and not the blue , I did recently purchase a powered USB 3 Hub with 7 slots to fix to the side of my cockpit stand in which all the Logitech devices and separate wireless keyboard and mouse are plugged into . when I run joy.cpl in windows 10 , I can see my X56 and rudder Pedals to make sure they are working ok and to calibrate , there seems to be no problems there , no jittering etc UPDATE : Removed all my profiles for aircraft , removed all Logitech drivers and software from windows and reinstalled them . remapped control inputs to DCS for the Huey and hey presto seems to be working again , no engine shutdowns etc ( didnt realise how difficult it is to fly the Huey with pedals , will take a while to get used to ) now to test my other aircraft modules once remapped , then to try MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 . I think due to the windows update maybe my drivers got messed up some how , not too sure . Thanks for the Advice , will keep you all posted Ian UPDATE 2 : Could not get the F18 to behave as the engines kept shutting down , decided to remove Throttle and plug it directly into a spare USB 3 port on my PC , as Nightdare suggested , Bingo it worked . I did try the other spare USB slots on the Hub , but still had the same problem , maybe the Throttle wasnt getting enough power via the Hub , not too sure , Thanks also to LucShep for the links Edited January 20 by Straycat words
