You dont need to change anything. With DLAA selected the tweak works for MFD and HUD as it is.

I did a test with my system:

VR Valve Index - 150% (DCS '1' pixel density) | nVidia GTX 3090 | Intel i7-9700K | 64GB RAM
Put in the two lines in the autoexec.cfg (DLSS_Preset = "K" and HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true)

Was flying F14. And I have to say MSAA 4x is still quite superior. Had still lots of ghosting with DLSS.

Me too the ghosting while dogfighting in the spit fire was awful, it was like i was chasing 3 planes.

It should not look that bad. Are you sure you are running preset K? Are you managing to maintain a steady FPS at the headset refresh rate?

Was flying Preset "J" last night and it was ok. Did some dogfighting (but only 1v1 AI plane and two tankers somewhere in the background). It was all right.
I guess for primary dogfighting, I would still consider MSAA, while for BVR and/or ground targets I guess DLSS is all right.
World War II planes might have a hard time with DLSS, since you are constantly "dogfighting"...

If you use QVFR try increasing the foveated region to about 1.8 and see how the ghosting looks. My settings:

VD: Godlike

QVFR: 0.25x0.25 at 1.8. Periphery at 0.5. No sharpening.

Yeah running K and getting 80fps on the ingame graph. Even the trees have ghost trails behind them, and when the ailerons on the spitfire move up and down they are blurry too. I have no problems running msaa x 2 though. This is on a quest 3 5080 gfx card. Not using QVFR just the oculus res set to 1.9x max and 1.0 in game super sampling.

When you say resolution is set to 1.9x is this in the meta link app or via oculus debug tool? Do you know what the final resolution is? The real advantage of DLAA/DLSS is the superior Antialiasing. But the only way to get rid of ghosting is to use a higher resolution.

The other cause of ghosting is a framerate lower than the HMD framerate.   For example, if your game frame rate is only 50 fps and your HMD refresh rate is 90hz -> the result is ghosting.

Good point. I should have said that too. A combination of higher resolution and frametime below what is needed for refresh rate is what will reduce ghosting.

However, DLSS ghosting is slightly different to low frame rate stutter and the double image you get with reprojection. It also causes smearing and blurring. Like "bleeding ink".

After some more extensive testing I came back to MSAA 4x. I havedecent frames on my system (i7 9700K, 64Gb RAM, RTX 3090, Valve Index) with MSAA and no ghosting. More fps is always better, but I can spot and see targets further away when on MSAA and also close I see aircraft easier.

For the time being, I have given up on DLSS.

The only way I can get rid of DLSS ghosting is to increase the centre resolution in QVFR very high (Godlike x2). The quality is amazing.

Exactly, that's what I've been doing for a long time.

Ive jsy seen that DLSS 310.3 is now out

Does it bring any major improvements in DCS Ghosting?

Is dlss 310.3 included in the new nvidia drivers or i need to download dll file from techpowerup?

I dont have latest drivers. Mine is some older version, i think from may.

AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070ti super, 32Gb DDR4, 2Tb nvme m2, Win10, Quest2 on link cable with max resolution (slider all right) , OTT profile with 0,8 h&v fov reduction, QVFR (h&v focus size 42%, foviate res. 145%, periph.res. 18%), DCS settings all ultra and high, PD 1.0, DLAA, No hangar mod, and usually maintaining 72Hz.

Installed new nvidia drivers, changed in nvidia profile inspector to preset K, turned on resizable bar, downloaded dll 310.3 file from techpower site.

Less ghosting than before, allmost not at all.

Definitely less ghosting, no noticeable performance drop or gain, no VRAM saving in DCS VR.

My initial thoughts are less ghosting but I have not really done a side by side test. Has anyone compared K vs J yet?

I tried 310.3.0 tonight.  Using DLAA, ghosting is almost non-existent now.  Tried using preset J and K---to my eye, K looks very crisp with only the slightest occasional ghosting looking down in F3 view with a plane flying over water.  K looks sharper than J.

DLSS/DLAA has come a long way with DCS.

in my experience DLSS has 15-20FPS more than DLAA, is the same for you?, with also more ghosting than DLAA

Really? DLAA performs better for me, and obviously less ghosting.
