I might do some of these, they're pretty easy, though I'd have to dig for the colors for the camo, unless you want the "new" camo instead. I still have to wait for my G key to die so I don't know when I can get to it, but maybe within a month if I predict it'll go out. I don't do Eagles normally, but I can get the colors and make a C look like an A I guess.

The whole point is to have the original light ghost gray/dark ghost gray camo that superseded the original air superiority blue. It was the only camo scheme F-15A/F-15C Eagles used until the 1990s. A key point is the color of the canopy rails. They are some sort of metallic red. Many skinners miss this detail when converting to the original scheme. I wish there was an option in the mission editor to turn on "turkey feathers" for the exhaust nozzles. That would match the look of early F-15Cs and allow the F-15C to visually represent the original production F-15As.

I need it actually if you can, as I need it for the inside emblem on the tails, but for other things too if you don't mind...

I have the early camo so I can apply it whenever I can.

I'll provide ASAP

Yeah I found a color scheme for the early, not late color scheme, so now since I moved to the new laptop (got DCS installed and all) now, I can within a day or so start working on the early colors, and not the late.

Here's the initial paint on the center fuselage. I'm sure it's working out great. Managed to figure out how to get ModelViewer working and so on:

I managed to finish it, I tried @streakeagle (now it works lol) on the topic, but it didn't go through there, but it's uploaded and waiting approval.

Not on this particular skin, all of them were low-viz style, so I kept it that way. I thought the same, but again the pictures I had showed low-viz roundels

I think the issue we're running into is that the C model has some obvious differences, and we're trying to work around it. I mean the part in front of the canopy isn't removable to my knowledge, and the turkey feathers would require a complete airframe specific model in order to work as intended. There's only so much we can do to finish the texture.

This is the one available skin that is early Bitburg with the correct red canopy frames and the red, white, and blue stars and bars:

The red canopy frames are not paint btw. It's more a reddish brown emulsion anodiC coating. Or more likley hard anodic, based on the chipping I see in the photos I have. I dont know about fully correct (525th). That blue is a bit bright for the 36th FW Coat-of-Arms. Missing a few service markings. Did the tailbands not extist for these guys. Thye should be Insignia Blue. The refueling door is corect for an early 'C' model with the bare metal. Early 'A' models had something like a yellow epoxy primer color to them.

Here is a photo of another F-15A from the same unit in the same time frame: note the lack of the tail stripe.

Was this one still in the US? What year is this? 1970's I can see it.

1984, this is the year I am doing. Just cant get rid of the metal gun shroud because it is hard modeled in. I did correct the color of mine though (53rd TFS)

Every photo I can find with no colored stripe on the tails are F-15As. This implies fairly early in the F-15 deployment to Bitburg.

I have all of these that you posted. Yeah probably early, I like the '84-86 liveries with the black Eagle bands on the inner Stab. I can see that small grey panel on the engine heat panels. The A'S I have have tail stripes but no inner stab. The 'C's seem to be the only one who have it. The Desert Storm liveries would be the easiest to make since they are all uniform. These early ones though are pretty cool, just not all have the Wing Insignia on both sides for mine =o(.

I was watching some YouTube videos on Bitburg F-15 operations. The resolution was very low in these old official promotional films. But I saw some interesting things. In one video, several F-15s were taxiing to takeoff and there was a mix of the newer schemes with tail stripes and the inner black band and one F-15 with no tail stripes or black bands, but otherwise same unit markings. So, there could be inconsistency even after F-15Cs arrived. I couldn't find a frame with good enough resolution to figure out if the colors were different because it was an old F-15A or a newly arrived F-15C.
