Change log: -voices redone and more voices added -triggers reworked -navigation aids added, guidance from Overlord when going off-course on long legs. - easier ways to finish a mission - ability of players to select to be Immortal at any time during the missions - ability to report Winchester and Bingo fuel state, this will trigger a win to live and fight another day. -Mig-21 and Mig-23 AI flights were tweaked to be more manageable. Pilots fatten up with 1000 kilos in some cases. - AI F-4 updated to use the Heatblur F-4E ...and many more. 3 7
Qiou87 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Impressive work and a huge thank you. I really enjoyed my first playthrough of your campaign and now, with an updated F-5E, I get to enjoy it a second time. Kudos! MAXsenna Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Excellent! Thank you! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
Pegas44 (Andrey) Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Yeah, thanks a lot, completed just 2 missions so far - much better experience compared to the old version! Flying remastered F-5 with close to real forces on FFBeast Stick & Pedals in VR - is so real and enjoyable! 1
Agim Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Thanks, this is a great campaign. I have to try some missions again. Mission 23 is my favourite one :-). 1
Draken35 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I flew this campaign in 2023... I guess I'll do it again with the remastered and the FFB stick... Curios about the lazy mig pilots gaining weight, did you use trigger.action.setUnitInternalCargo to add the mass? This could be a nifty solution for the UFO problem 2
SorelRo Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 That is correct. The problem is that they are omniscient and good pilots and as they burn fuel they become even lighter, and it shows. So now they are fat. 1
Pegas44 (Andrey) Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Even with this trick, fighting AI Migs with FFB stick is very very hard, you have to pull over 40 lbs for maximum G! 1

So, you are getting a workout in? And man, that is awesome, if you have to pull that much, I'm assuming you don't hit any high AOA states like that and you manage to stay always fast. Now, I'm more than certain that the F5 has some hydraulic actuators so maybe that 40 pounds is not a good FFB implementation. 1

SorelRo Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 (edited) You are dedicated. Sorry I can't make them fatter, but it seems like that's how it should be flying the F-5 with those stubby little wings. Lucky for you, it's not an F-104 what FFB stick you are using? Edited February 25 by SorelRo 1

I'm using FFBeast (https://ffbeast.github.io) stick with max force close to 40 pounds, and pedals with max force close to 80 pounds. It has custom effects system to simulate various forces, and I spent several days to dig into T-38 & F-5 flight tests documents to figure out exact force response curves for stick movement. Compared to simple spring stick (which I used for over 5 years) - it is completely different experience to fly F-5 - it flies like on rails - very smooth and very stable hands off. Lateral stick force is high, but it gives exact ailerons control, longitudinal stick force is non-linear with increasing force gradient and with more resistance to push than to pull. Also F-5 has bob-weight on longitudinal axis - about 2 pounds per G, which increases already high stick force, when pulling Gs - you just feel it in your hand! Pedals in F-5 are heavy - around 80 pounds at maximum deflection! 2
SorelRo Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Man, that sounds so cool. I bet playdates with your setup are fun. I'm glad you went all the way with it. It sounds quite awesome. 1
pabletesoy Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Hello, how can I jump directly from one mission to another? Before the update I was on mission 10 and I would like to start from that mission. I have not seen that possibility in the radio menu. Thank you!
SorelRo Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 It is possible in every campaign to skip a mission. Build into DCS.

pgn Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Just wanted to say I'm almost through this campaign and have really enjoyed it. Thanks! 1
