Arkid77 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) Something that many other flight simulators does but DCS doesn't is having the option for their camera axis control to operate smoothly/freely without reverting back to its original position after letting go of the analog stick. Like my WINWING Ursa Minor and Logitech X56 both feature an analog joystick, but the only camera controls I can map them to are the Absolute Camera Horizontal/Vertical View key binds. I'm not saying it should change, it would just be nice if we had another camera key bind that doesn't respring back to the center of the screen. And yes I know Track IR and other head-tracking solutions exist but that's not what I'm asking. IMG_1426.mp4 The only axis camera keybinds are the Absolute Camera Horizontal/Vertical View and shift binds which behave like this. SharpeXB Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Head tracking like TrackIR is a much better solution for this, I dare say it’s essential. There are even free or DIY setups doable as well. Besides being able to control your view, it provides 6DOF which enables looking around obstructions like canopy frames or controls in the cockpit which sometimes aren’t directly visible. Looking calmly around an airliner cockpit is one thing, combat awareness and smoothly tracking targets is a different matter. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
MadKreator Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I will agree with this. I do use trackIR but in some aircraft I also use the absolute camera ( warbirds mostly) on a stick axis. It would be very nice to have the view position stay put instead of snapping back to center. Not a deal breaker but it would be a nice QOL feature, just because. 1 Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 4TB, 2x 2TB, 1TB Samsung NVME, 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB Custom STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Moza FFB, Virpil Collective, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios,49” Samsung Ultrawide, Streamdeck XL, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones
