The "hardware accelerated GPU scheduling" can sometimes do a nasty number in VR.
If you have not tried this already, I suggest disabling it in Windows, rebooting and checking if there is any improvement.

Br,

Mud

Disabling GPU Hardware Acceleration, I had a clear improvement, but still not very smooth, but still acceptable. Thanks, I await news of improvement

Log doesnt show to much in this case, but as mentioned above

Verify that this is configured correctly in Windows:

Game Mode disabled
Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling disabled
Core Isolation disabled

I did everything and it's much better. Only in the sinai map it still gives a bit of problems, but still much better than before

Unfortunately the problem persists in the Sinai map. However, I noticed that if I look at the pilot's feet in VR, without loading other elements into the system, the thing improves... but as soon as I start looking outside again it goes back to how it was before. Could it be a memory problem or texture loading or something else?? I repeat, only for the Sinai map the problem

Unfortunately... Is not only a Sinai map problem, nor a VR only problem, I have the same timed spikes at Akrotiri, Cairo, Bagram, Kandahar, Baghdad, but also at Batumi when there are a lot of units in play (more objects=bigger spikes). The same spike happens when taking screenshots, could it be a write-to-disk related issue?

That's something I thought too. Luckily my problem is only with the Sinai map. Other maps, like Caucasus, Persian Gulf, Syria work perfectly, even online

I have experience with 4 GPUs in DCS and 3 VR headsets. I started with an Rx 6700 which is similar to a 3060ti but has 10Gb VRAM. My experience is that this GPU works ok with a rift s but anything else pushes it too far. When I got a Pico 4 I then upgraded to a 4070. Even a 4070 is pushed without QVFR. I used a Quest Pro with a 4070 for over a year and it's OK but still limited. The last few weeks I have tried a 5070ti and now a 5080. I'm not suggesting you pay for a new GPU but you need to manage expectations.

With a 3060ti you will be OK with simple modules and well optimised maps. As long as your DCS settings are set quite low. Keep shadows low, visibility range to medium, DLSS performance, keep the details sliders low and use QVFR in fixed mode with a small foveated reagion. Anything else will seriously push your GPU tender time which will drop you below your headset refresh rate and cause frametime spikes.

PC specs: 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64GB RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - (for posts before March 2025: 5800x3d - rtx 4070) - VR headsets Quest Pro (Jan 2024-present; Pico 4 March 2023 - March 2024; Rift s June 2020- present). Maps Afghanistan – Channel – Cold War Germany - Kola - Normandy 2 – Persian Gulf - Sinai - Syria - South Atlantic. Modules BF-109 - FW-190 A8 - F4U - F4E - F5 - F14 - F16 - F86 - I16 - Mig 15 - Mig 21 - Mosquito - P47 - P51 - Spitfire.

Do you advise me to change the video card? Obviously not right away

I would aim to upgrade your GPU at some point. It's probably worth waiting until the 50xx series hype and overpricing has settled down. If you can get something with a similar performance to a 4070 then you will see a big difference. For now try minimizing your settings. The ones you posted earlier in this thread are very high for your setup. Do everything you can to minimize VRAM use. Visibility range, textures and shadows are big VRAM hogs. You can also try the "Empty Hanger Mod". This reduces VRAM use.

I would also advise using Quad Views Foveated Rendering in fixed mode. This will give you better performance.

This is my QVFR, is good ? what you think?

They look reasonable. How does it look in game for you and does it give you any performance boost? You can try getting the foveated region as narrow as you can cope with as this has a big impact. For example 0.2x0.2 = 4% of the total FOV. 0.3x0.3 = 9% and 0.4x0.4 = 16%. Yours is set to 0.35x0.35 which is 12.25%. I use 0.25x0.25 (6.25%) but I use a Quest Pro with eye tracking. Try 0.25x0.25 and you should see a noticable difference in performance. Reduce transition thickness to 0.1 (20%).

I think you will become my best friend! With the tips you gave me it has improved a lot. Which video card do you recommend for getting the right performance?

It depends on how much you want to spend. Probably the best deal at the moment is the Rx 9070xt if you can get one at MSRP. The performance is close to a 5070ti. The downside is no DLSS. If you would prefer a less expensive GPU then wait until the rx9060 and rtx5060 series are released. Or look into the used market. An rtx 4070 or rx 7800xt.

I always have problems in the Sinai map. The GPU and CPU looking at the task manager oscillate with spikes from 4% to 70%, causing me to have stutters in the game. When they are both at 70-60% of use I have no type of problem and it is totally fluid. This problem happens every 5-10 seconds. I attach the log and the dxdiag

DxDiag.txt dcs.log
