Before deciding to buy an aircraft I of course need to test it out (How fun it is? is it easy to operate? What's its performance?). DCS has free trial for 90% of its modules but not F15E. Why?

Edit: I saw that people play it without even switching to the rear seat. Is it possible to play it like a single seated aircraft?

Because Razbam decided they didn't want to participate in the Free to Play nor the Miles program. Not ED's decision.

Edit: Yes, you can play it from the front seat. You don't need a back seater.

Once you are up and in the air you don't need to jump in the back seat, but for a cold start you do need to briefly jump out back to turn on your RWR, countermeasures, TPOD, and laser.

You can bind these switches to keys so you don't have to jump in the back. At least the Tpod and laser switches. Not that it's a big deal to jump in the back during the startup in any case.

Didn't know you could bind controls from the rear cockpit while in the front, I always assumed it was like the Tomcat.

And you can even use VoiceAttack pretending to give the back seater order to turn them on. 😉
