Logbook Squadron problem

Greetings all. I'm new to DCS about 6 days on. I noticed in my logbook. If I pick usa or ukraine. My rank shows up as image, and I can select a Squadron patch at the top right. When I select ussr my image to rank disappears and I can't select any Squadron patch none show up. Is the only way to select Squadron patch for ussr is to join one created on here? And then it links that to my logbook or should I try to repair my game and verify integrity of files?

 

Has anyone else encountered this? How did you go about fixing it?

Unfortunately, DCS does not provide logbook details for USSR, its current definition is:

 

country:add('USSR', _("USSR"), "USSR", "SUN",
  use_default_ranks,
  no_awards,
  no_squadrons
);

 

Maybe you can create a wish item to ask Eagle Dynamics to add USSR correct ranks, awards, and squadrons, but it is unlikely it would be granted because it requires quite a bit of work to create the graphics art for the ranks, medals and squadron patches.

Some users have crafted their own graphics and added them to the game in the form of a user mod, and I've seen that once a Mod exists ED can add it to the game, as happened with this Mod for the chilean air force by Fernando Cifuentes, which is now part of DCS:

thanks very much Rudel, i have sad face now. I dont want to represent Merica. I will still represent Russia with my no rank and no squadron. Its fine. Have a good day man!
