Hey,

Earlier today I decided to fly around the Frankfurt area in a Phantom (opened the F-18 hotstart IA mission in the ME and swapped it for a FRG Phantom), and when I opened the throttles Jester yelled that I was "out of my god darned mind".
When this happens it's usually because either you're being naughty and taking off from a taxiway, or DCS doesn't recognise the runway as a runway which makes Jester believe you're being naughty, while you actually aren't.

I don't know if this is something Ugra or ED needs to fix, but this might be a result of the map being new - a viewpoint that was brought forward by Heatblur's Ironmike who suggested I make this bug report.

If you need a track, I can try to reproduce this but I think the issue is clear enough without one. I'd like to add ATC asked me to take off from runway 07 (which I did: 07L in fact), and I made sure to taxi past the zebra markings before opening the throttles.

Thanks!

Hi

Did you test it on both runways? maybe it could be that only one is recognised.

I did not. I’ll try the other one next time 😊

Ok I can confirm runway 07R doesn't have that problem, and works properly: Jester goes through the take-off checklist as per normal.
07L on the other hand makes Jester proclaim: "Man, the CO is going to bust our balls for this. We are WAY too fast. Are you out of your god darn mind?"

Keep in mind I am following proper taxi procedures - as in: exactly following the yellow markings on the taxi-way to the runway.

  • Raven (Elysian Angel) changed the title to Frankfurt main runway 07L not recognised as "runway" by DCS?

As far as I could understand DCS functioning, it's unable to manage 2 runways at the same airport. You can check other airports with 2 runways, I'm pretty sure Jester will yell at you every time you try to take off on the non official runway (that one without the blue circle). As in Germany or in France military airfields haven't or rarely have 2 runways. Maybe it's more common in the USA, I don't know.
