Mission 1 - problem - nothing happens when about to enter runway

On the first mission, i get to the place where all flights line up just ahead of the runway

 

there is a handsignal idnciating CH 4 

 

But then nothing happens. none of the flights enter the runway to take off 

 

am i doing something wrong or is this a bug?

You probably didn't complete the taxi checks. Post a screenshot of the message history menu to see what was Jester's last call that he's waiting for a reply.
