Wile E. Posted Sunday at 04:40 PM Posted Sunday at 04:40 PM I don't have a great analog for the boat switch on my controls, so I was hoping I could fake it using one button that would just cycle between the three settings. Is there a way to do that?
Yurgon Posted Sunday at 06:08 PM Posted Sunday at 06:08 PM Within DCS, probably not. External tools, yup! The software for your HOTAS might bring such an assignment option. Otherwise, tools like Joy2Key, Joystick Gremlin or Autohotkey might all be able to do it. I'm not well versed in either of them, but basically what you're looking for is a simple sequence where buttons press 1 equals Boat Switch Aft, button press 2 equals Boat Switch Fwd, and button press 3 equals Boat Switch Center (as an example). Then with the next button press, the sequence starts all over. I'm not at my PC right now, but I think the Boat Switch has simple default keybinds that you could use, and if one is missing, you can just map it within DCS and then have your software just send the 3 keybinds (one for each press). You'll probably find better help in the PC Hardware and Related Software part of the forum: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/57-pc-hardware-and-related-software/
