Fun fact that I just found out about a few weeks ago; JASDF F-4EJ's never had the bombing computers added to them. They also were sold without IFR receptacles but those were added sometime later. They were operated strictly in the Air defense role. I tried to find pictures with air-to-ground ordnance but couldn't. If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to let me know. My OCD won't let me put A/G weapons on her now when I'm using a JASDF livery!

Well, no bombing computer wouldn't have meant no bombing, you'd just have to dial in the mils and bomb in DIRECT. That said, Japan seems to have focused almost exclusively on air to air capabilities, I don't think the EJs ever did air to ground.

Factory built F-4EJ until 1981 didn't have bombing computers.

JASDF decided to modernize F-4EJ into F-4EJ Kai from 1982 and total 90x F-4EJs were converted to -EJ Kai until 1993.
F-4EJ Kai got a new FCS with bombing calculator, HUD, HOTAS throttle grip, AGP66J with AIM-7F illuminator, new RWR, new IFF etc.
So F-4EJ Kai had bombing capability , and photos with Mk82 training bombs were taken in 1990s-.

Thanks for that. It's cool except one thing, the KAI cockpit is extremely different from what we have (I'm not asking for a KAI, IJS). That Hud in the KAI is actually a real HUD. I guess I'll have to let my imagination run wild! Thanks again!
