DCS crashes while loading into mission

I need some help in diagnosing this problem. I haven't played for a while, but after installing the newest update DCS crashes while loading into a Mission. I have tried doing a slow repair, updating my NVidia Drivers, starting the mission in flatscreen mode, deactivating all OpenXR layers (OpenXR toolkit, quadviews and openkneeboard), uninstalling some mods (all modded aircraft) but based on all the stuff the logfile says can't be loaded, I don't think it's mod related (I'm no expert though). I still have installed tacview, SRS, simhaptic and openkneeboard.

I'm reading that the newest NVIDIA Drivers are causing problems for some, so I reverted back to version 572.83 which is currently installed and which I know worked with DCS in the past. Is there anything in the logfile that can give a clue as to what's going wrong?

thanks for the suggestions. As I wrote in my post, I already tried repair (unless !repair is different than clicking repair in the splash screen). I tried deleting fxo and metashaders and temp files and that did nothing. Then after renaming the saved games folder, I tried the F18 caucasus BFM Mission against the SU30 and that loaded successfully. The first time I tried this, I alt-tabbed and the game immediately crashed. I then reloaded, flew around for a bit and quit to main menu, and it crashed in the main menu, so it's still very unstable. I'm attaching the newest log, but as far as I can see, it still lists the same crash reason as before. So if that points to CUDA crashing, does that suggest a driver issue still?

i did not review your latest crash files. however, yes, the cuda error pertains to nvidia driver. my system does not have any crashing (or ever in fact). i currently am running nvidia 576.02. i see the latest release version is 576.52 (May 19, 2025). maybe that will fix.

I have tried the newest NVidia Driver (576.52) before I rolled back to 572.83 and the newest driver was crashing as well. Also with the newest driver I experienced crashes in other games, which did not happen before I updated and has not happened anymore now that I rolled back. I'm hesitant to update the driver to try again, given that I experienced the same crashes before and it seems to cause problems with other games. Is there anything else I can try?

@nxrvb You have a dxgi.dll file in your DCS\bin directory. I know of only two reasons why this would be there, e.g. ReShade or DLSSTweaks. Remove that and try again, this is part of the stack trace in your crash. Running a slow repair of the game, including selecting the Remove Files option should have removed it.

On a side-note your preload radius is set to 5300. You could bump that up to 60000 if you wanted to, would be fine with your VRAM/RAM. This can help performance, with the game needing to do fewer loads of resources (reduce disk IO) as it will cache more up front.

removing dxgi.dll seems to have fixed it, thank you very much! I did experiment with DLSSTweaks, but ultimately went back to DLAA, since in MP with the resolution of the index CPU performance seems to be the bigger bottleneck. As you can see I fiddled with DCS performance so much, I can't even remember everything I did. I will remember clicking the delete option in the repair thing for the future though. I didn't want to select that because of all the third party programs I have installed, but in retrospect it would have been well worth the 'risk'.

As for the preload radius, I set it that low back when I had significantly less RAM and problems with stuttering. I'll try 60000 and see how it performs. Any other performance tweaks that jump out at you?
