Tucano_uy Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 It happened more than once. I get attacked by ground defences and the pilot is killed but the aircraft is still good enough to continue flying and so it does. Surprisingly, ground defences stop shooting at the helo as if they knew that I was dead!!!:megalol: I think they should keep shooting until the aircraft is down.
dawestsides Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 This is Artificial Intelligence man. Except if Chuck Norris  was with them, why would they bother wasting ammo on an aircraft about to crash? [/url]My MAKS 2015 Pictures
Tucano_uy Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 hahah nobody said "about to crash", rather, perfectly trimmed and flying straight and level. Only mishap was a shell going trhough the pilot's temple...
EtherealN Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 This is slightly offtopic, but my favourite ever was in the demo of the original Flanker. In there, it was possible to steer your Su-27 after ejecting. It just becomes a very expensive R/C aircraft that you control from your parachute. :D But yes, there would be some implications of something like this (even though it would rarely matter) in that it might cause ground forces to redirect fire to a "living" aircraft faster than they "should". I don't really think it's often that it'll turn the tide of battle though. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
LKNANML Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 This has happened to me a handful of times. Once when I was on auto pilot. The heli went on through all the route points till for some reason lost total control and flipped about into the ground. It's a harsh boom and your looking at the outside of your heli though..
