I thought it would be useful to see how long it's taking for people's orders to be fulfilled, so if you've had yours delivered, please put the order date and delivery date. 🙂

Mine, ordered 20th Dec 2024. No shipping notification as of yet.

Mid April 25 order - They said delivery expected at June but we all know that ain't happening. Knowing Pimax, I'd expect mine to show up end of Summer.

I ordered my super on 28th april 25, we are in the same boat, atm I’m still wondering if the ultrawide is a better choice

I am guessing not. Remember: It is known that time and time again, Pimax lies about their FOV numbers. OG Crystal supposedly had 115HFOV (when it reality it has more like 105) they originally advertised the Super 50ppd as having 135HFOV when in truth it's closer to 125, so I would assume that the Ultrawide will have barely a few degrees more for an optical engine that will take even longer to be delivered and with compromised binocular overlap. Again this is just a guess but I think it's better to wait for user reviews - NOT affiliate reviews. Honest user reviews take much longer to show up but are a better representation than the dozens of usual first YouTubers that Pimax compensates.

Same. Ordered April 21st 2025 and was told June was the expected delivery date… haven’t heard a peep so I’m not optimistic at this stage..

Ordered 57PPD Super Bundle on 1 Oct 2024...only received the emails indicating late June 25.  Don't know where I am on the waiting list, if "first buy-first served".

UPDATE:  As of 1 Jul 25, no direct contact about status, only the website timing announcements.

I preordered in December and nothing yet. I spoke with Pimax and they told me end of May of June and I think that they are not saying the truth. I have bought in Pimax before and they are making the same mistake with shipments: delaying, delaying and trying to accept more preorders. They should make more stock before accepting more orders.

I reserved one in late July, 2024 and pre-ordered in November. I received an email asking for address confirmation on May 7. Usually it ships a few days after you confirm your mailing address, but it is now a full month and I have not received any shipping confirmation. I've heard that some who reserved in May have recently received theirs.

So at this rate, if you hadn't reserved one, then you will be lucky to receive one this year.

Yup, I have to agree. Based on experience and Pimax's history (and other businesses too), it is important to decipher their 'marketing speak'.

When I placed my order in April, Jaap said in an official video that 'orders placed then are expected start shipping in June'.

Translation:

We have no idea when we will ship, but it will be nowhere near any reasonable time frame, therefore in order to not scare away buyers and keep the cash flow going, let's say June. This way, we can keep stalling when buyers ask for estimations - and people will keep their orders thinking their order is just a couple weeks/months away.

Seriously guys, this has happened over and over and over again with Pimax. Given their repeated history, there is no reason to take their words in any literal sense or expect any kind of transparency. They've done this several times with pre-orders going back years and plenty of people (like me) put up with it and keep pre-ordering, so it'd be foolish to expect otherwise.

If you want to help break this cycle, do not buy unless it's readily available for shipping. I just kept my order because I can't wait a second longer for something that doesn't have the claustrophobic 100 HFOV like every other headset. After that, hopefully I won't be in the the pre-order train again for the next gen. 😶

td;dr, disregard Pimax's proven lies. It will be shipped when it will be shipped. Sit and wait.

I’m reading this as I won’t see my April 2025 pre-order until July at best (somewhat as expected…)

https://pimax.com/blogs/blogs/update-on-shipping-option-to-change-to-the-ultrawide

Production and shipping timing

We are slightly behind the original shipping schedule, for several reasons:
  • Improved measures for our quality control, including a second test for each headset
  • Operational improvements to the factory
  • But most importantly, our production ran into a temporary shortage of the 3840 x 3840 QLED panels required for the Crystal Super 50 PPD, 57 PPD QLED, and Ultrawide
The Crystal Super combines hundreds of parts, from different suppliers and manufacturers who collaborate with Pimax. Any shortage in parts brings delays to the entire production. For the panels used in the Super, we adhere to the highest standards. The QLED panels used are 1500 pixels per inch, the highest of any LCD panel on the market, and we specifically designed our glass aspheric lenses to show all the details on the panel, which is why any imperfection on the panel will show for the user. Because of this, we strictly adhere to grade 1 panel quality (more about this here).

Yet our QLED panel supplier has mentioned low production yields due to manufacturing complexity. This caused a panel shortage that slightly delayed our production. So for a period of time, we produced Crystal Super's at a lower pace than we expected.

That said: We are still confident of shipping most 50 PPD QLED pre-orders from before May 2025, in the month of June, or early July.

For this we're doing everything to speed up production. Pimax owns three factories, one for optical stacks, one for the Crystal Light, and one for the Crystal Super. We are now also temporarily halting production on the Crystal Light to assist with the production of the Crystal Super. This means we're quickly catching up on the delay of the Crystal Super production. We're also continueing work on the weekends to ensure a higher production speed, while still keeping quality checks in place.

This is looking is a bit slower than expected and I had pretty realistic expectations (I think). I was figuring around Aug for non preorders (like something placed in early may)  This seems quite optimistic at this point oct/ nov is probably a safer bet.

The Somnium team did a good job of allowing individuals to ride along in the development process and watch as the prototypes moved into production phase and got beat up all along the way by reality. I probably have a bit better understanding of product development than the average person and am quite aware of dev team expectations vs reality and I was very appreciative of the Somnium team to provide as much dev info as they did. It was actually quite interesting to follow along in this process.

Im assuming there is nothing like this on the pimax discord correct?

Thanks!

...which makes it even tougher on us waiting on our orders.  That said, I'm really looking forward to going back to VR...I'm currently on a monitor.  It's a massive step down in immersion; however, I bought a haptic seat that helps offset.
