pognhek Posted Tuesday at 09:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:12 PM (edited) Hi all, I'm a new Crystal Light owner, and I'm struggling with both hardware and software IPD settings. I can roughly set the hardware IPD, but I still have an unpleasant feeling between my eyes that eventually leads to nausea after a while in-game. I used the Quest 2 and 3 for a long time and never experienced this sensation. (nota: i play with my glasses) I've tried fine-tuning the software IPD offset—it seems correct in desktop view (both eyes are crystal clear)—but in-game, I still get this uncomfortable feeling, like there's an offset between the eyes. So I’m guessing there might be a difference between the desktop and in-game settings for far and intermediate vision. I admit I have a strong prescription for both eyes, but I was wondering if there’s any method, setting guide, or dedicated tool that could help with precise IPD adjustment for DCS. Here are my current settings: Hardware IPD: 63.5 mm Software IPD: Horizontal right offset: 0.8 / left offset: 1.2 And my current glasses prescription for distance is: Right eye: +3.5 (cylinder 0.5) at 15° Left eye: +2.75 (cylinder 0.5) at 20° My exact IPD measurements are: Right: 33 mm Left: 31.5 mm Thanks for your help, Edited Tuesday at 09:15 PM by pognhek

Additionally the focal point is set to 1m from your face (as opposed to 3m which I think many of the other headsets are set to). Both of these can cause some discomfort or weird feelings similar to being cross-eyed. I see you've already found the offset in the advanced options, so looks like you have been playing around with that. Another thing you could try is pulling the headset away from your head a little and see if that helps with the discomfort. (Moving your eyes back a little from the screen). If you do find some relief in doing this, getting some comfort spacers may help. This of course reduces the FOV, but can make it much more comfortable for viewing for some users (such as myself), and the little loss in FOV is made up by the less eye strain. I'm not sure how you work with Glasses and the VR headset, but the other thing is to look at getting prescription lenses for the headset itself. If your glasses that you're wearing are for distance, but the real distance your eyes need to focus at is only 1m - this could be also contributing to some of your discomfort/issues instead of helping. It might be worth finding out what your prescription is for 1m, getting some contact lenses as trial at that distance, and seeing if having those focused at 1m (instead of distance) improve your experience. If so - you could consider prescription VR lenses. Hope some of this is of some help. Edited Tuesday at 09:49 PM by Dangerzone

I discussed with my best friend-optician, and from his opnion, presciption lenses are not the answer. But i think about it, if i'm not finding a correct answer to my issue Nevertheless, thanks for your help. PS: i've also requested help from pimax discord, i'll keep you informed 1
Hillman Posted Wednesday at 08:52 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:52 PM Hi, I talked to my optician and got the numbers for 1m focal distance and ordered lenses accordingly. This I can recommend. I also had aa lot of eye strain and headace before, but got it solved by adjusting the IPD offset in the settings. Also take a look at this video: 1 HW: AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb DDR5, RTX 4090, Winwing Orion 2 HOTAS, TM TPR rudderpedals, Pimax Crystal Light VR, DOF Hero 3 motion rig, Win11 DCS: P-47, P-51, Spitfire, Mosquito, Bf-109, Fw-190A/D, F-86, F-4E, F-5E, Mig-21, Harrier, Viggen, M-2000C, A-10C, F-14, F-15E, F-16, FA-18, C101, MB-339, Yak-52, AH-64, UH-1, Mi-8, Mi-24, Gazelle, Ka-50, CH-47F, all maps & tech, SuperCarrier
Nodak Posted Wednesday at 11:15 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:15 PM There's also some calibration testing charts with color and shade images in the old home if you can get that installed into your pimax play.
