RackMonkey Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I've been away for a couple of years and a lot has changed. I've got a new install of all the software but things have changed enough that I can't get NeckSafer and VoiceAttack to work correctly. I think it might be because I use a Pimax Crystal headset and PimaxVR. NeckSafer seems to work except that when I turn left everything comes closer and turning right everything move away from me. Voice attack recognises my commands but they don't seem to make it to DCS for action. If anybody has figured this out I'd appreciate a little help. Just the fact that VoiceAttack is recognising your voice but not doing inputs tells me that maybe VoiceAttack doesn't have permisison to 'input keystrokes' into the DCS application. Are you running DCS as 'Run as administrator' by any chance? If so - make sure you turn this off/disable so it just runs as a regular user. (You may need to reassign permission to certain files or do a repair - depending on whether updates have occurred under 'as administrator' and set permissions incorrectly). Same deal with NeckSafer. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling it - and making sure that it, and DCS is not running 'as administrator'. I could be way off, but it's worth checking.
speed-of-heat Posted June 19 Posted June 19 For necksafer make sure you are using XR necksafer as dcs now default to openxr SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
RackMonkey Posted June 19 Author Posted June 19 Thanks guys, but one question I should have asked first. Do we know for sure that these two programs work with the latest version of DCS and Pimax's version of Open XR? I am running Win 11 23H2 since Microsoft has seen fit to depricate Mixed Reality in 24H2. I don't want to chase a solution that doesn't exist or if I need to change my working version of OpenXR. If you're referring to VoiceAttack as one of those two programs then should definitely work. It just sends key presses to DCS, nothing to do with DCS itself, and zero to do with OpenXR. This is just straight VoiceAttack, i.e. you're not using Vaicom as well? Does VoiceAttack work for other things, has it worked fine before and just stopped now? Is it set up correctly for sending to the active window? Refer to the other questions by Dangerzone as well. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
RackMonkey Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 Thanks guys. I just got back in town and was able to try what you said. I've got VoiceAttack working now, but NeckSafer is still screwed up. I have confirmed that I have XR Necksafer beta 5b. It still does the same thing, when I look left my view point moves forward and when I look right my view point moves aft. I don't know what I can do to correct this problem. Gigabyte X670, 7800 X3D, 2X1TB NvME, RTX4090, 32GB DDR5 , Pimax Crystal

XRNecksafer does not work very well any more. I find that the problem you mention becomes progressively worse. One possible solution is to have separate key binds for DCS recentre view and XRNecksafer recentre view. speed-of-heat Posted July 1 Posted July 1 (edited) I find xrnecksafer works just fine ? the only thing i can suggest is to make sure it's loaded before DCS , I have the center button for necksafer and DCS bound to the same button: and HTH Edited July 1 by speed-of-heat SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
