Is auto level and auto altitude timed?

Seems like when I invoke these commands and maybe because I had changed views, they get disengaged.  Explain the autopilot rules??

Auto pilot rules = there aren't any 

 

Red somewhere that ebay should not be in since they were just use for de bugging.
