Hey, i have been practicing weapon deployment via tables and sight depression. What i want to know is, is there some way to plan them out? Mainly i'd like to know how far you have to be from the target and the altitude so i can get the angle right when i roll in.

Okay I'll bite, what plane/helicopter are you using?

Reason I ask is that you need to go to the specific forum and ask for what you're using. A broad question like this doesn't give much to work with, and so it could be the thing you're flying, and the weapon you're using, as each has its own idiosyncrasies in how to deliver them.

In real live there is a lot of tables where you can find such parameters. But it is a lot of work and the bombing tables in DCS aren't that realistic.

Excel and some trigonometry can give you that, but it will not be enough since you also need to be at the right speed at the release altitude, which is function of your entry speed (at roll in) and how many g's you pull in the roll in (plus throttle position, drag fact and who knows what else...). Also, it assumes that you have a way to determine the distance to target.

Another way to do it id using cockpit/canopy/wing references... Put the target at the reference position, at a given altitude and speed and pull the same g's in the roll in every time.
Attached is an old kneeboard I generated a while ago...

Regarding dive bombing in particular, you'll find all your answers here.

The whole series of articles focuses on Paveway II, but since their ballistics is close to dumb bombs, most of it will apply to them as well.
