Darpa Posted Sunday at 08:06 PM Posted Sunday at 08:06 PM Hi… I just got a new Alienware Area-51 AAT2250 (5090, Intel® CoreTM Ultra 9 285K processor, 64 GB RAM) and tried to install my Aero. It fails on the 3rd step of the install, it says "Headset Connected" and "checking connection, please wait" and the process never finishes. The new machine is fully up to date on everything and has only the keyboard/mouse and monitor connected. I have tried everything I know (tried multiple USB ports, multiple Display Ports, multiple versions of the Varjo Base drivers, rebooted everything multiple times) and no luck. Ideas? Thanks
speed-of-heat Posted Monday at 06:35 AM Posted Monday at 06:35 AM I know there were issues with 5090 and aero... I thought they were resolved by the latest drivers, check the Varjo discord for more information 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
Darpa Posted Monday at 03:44 PM Author Posted Monday at 03:44 PM Thanks speed, I took a look and it seems they are referring to the Aero and 5090 issues that occurred in conjunction with earlier Nvidia drivers. As you mentioned Nvidia resolved that problem a while ago a few months ago) when they released a new driver. I held off buying a computer with a 5090 until that issue was resolved. My problem has to do with connections I believe but I do appreciate you trying to help - Thanks

Darpa Posted Monday at 07:32 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:32 PM Speed... Re: your first response Even a bigger thanks to you now. When my PC arrived a few days ago and I booted it a message came up and said it would now install all of the latest firmware and drivers. It listed everything it was going to install (fairly lengthy list) and one item said "Latest Nvidia Drivers". Your first message reminded me maybe I should go and check and make sure they had done this. Turns out they said that they had... but they actually had not. It was not only not on the latest driver, the driver was actually quite old. Dumb of me to trust a hardware vendor. Thanks again for reminding me of this. Have a good day 1

ChariotOfFLAME Posted Monday at 10:43 PM Posted Monday at 10:43 PM Yeah, check every driver, as well as the MOBO bios to make sure everything is up-to-date, and murder any and all bloatware
