topstorefamily Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Is ECM implemented yet? Cannot find any binding keys for ECM
Northstar98 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) It's been modelled with AN/ALQ-165 (AFAIK accurate for USMC aircraft of the timeframe - USN aircraft should have AN/ALQ-126B for the timeframe). There's a rotary switch in front of the stick, simply place it to XMIT. The jammer will automatically start transmitting when a radar in a track/fire-control mode is detected and will automatic cease transmitting when a radar in a track/fire-control mode is no longer detected. _Hoss Posted July 7 Posted July 7 It will start to transmit when the receiver's signal strength reaches a specific strength (dbm) from the Target Tracking RADAR, called "Sense", then it will XMIT, pulse for pulse a deception technique, it will continue to XMIT until the receiver senses it has reached a weaker signal strenth (dbm) called "Snap Down" (leaving the area) then it will stop transmitting. So, leave the DECM Xmitter in STBY on the boat or airfield, put it into REC after takeoff, and put it in RPT/XMIT when you fence in. Return the "Q" to REC when you fence out. Take it from an old, retired USN avionics technician who worked on AN/ALR-45/45F/50 and 67s, as well as AN/ALQ-126A and Bs, out of the A-7s, A-6s, and F/A-18s, that this is how DECM works. 3 Sempre Fortis
