stephenjdecatur Posted July 24 Posted July 24 the launch screen loads, but when the launch button is pressed DCS closes. (disappears from Task Manager). I rolled back Windows Update (which I had just completed) and did a complete repair of DCS from the Launch Screen. I use Malwarebytes (utilizing permissions) and not Windows Defender. What else can I try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

stephenjdecatur Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 thank you for replying silverdevil. Yes, I did restart. I also did a repair on the C++ file and then another complete repair. Still nothing. I did finally stumble on a workaround. Since the launch screen does appear I noticed on the Settings page that deactivating the Launch Screen was an option. Bingo. No Launch Screen, right to DCS. It's not fixed. I can't use the Launch Screen, but you don't really need it and I have access to the sim again.

stephenjdecatur Posted Monday at 07:35 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:35 PM Thanks for your reply. I tried renaming options.lua. No joy. Any other suggestions? (I had high hopes for that idea).

Restart DCS and see if DCS will start. a new DCS folder will be created. if DCS runs, great. then you can grab your INPUTS folder from the backup DCS folder.
