paul2437 Posted August 15 Posted August 15 I have an issue affecting frame rate and stuttering related to my mouse movement while in the sim. Any polling rate above 125 and the issue occurs. I thought this had been patched out sometime ago happens in both VR and 2D. 2D track attached with polling rate at 500. Test.trk
MoleUK Posted August 15 Posted August 15 (edited) This one definitely isn't fixed, as it routinely shows up when mouse polling is set to above 125hz. But only for some users. I don't know of any fix other than lowering the polling rate for affected users. Though generally speaking, some more CPU intensive games can struggle with polling rates above 1000hz. And mouse polling issues in DCS did seem to disappear for years until it's (somewhat) recent return. Edited August 15 by MoleUK
eror85 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Unfortunately im still having this problem. Changing polling rate affect the issue. On 1000hz fps drops to 0 when moving camera. On 500hz the camera just stuttering. I7-13700F RTX 5070
SharpeXB Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) It just happens at random to me. I’ve found just Alt Tabbing out to GHUB and switching the DPI back and forth fixes it. 125 is way too clunky to tolerate. eror85 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) Sometimes restarting the game solve the issue, and working just fine in the entire time. Usually it happens to me in the first time when starting the game. Annoying "little" bug Edited August 23 by eror85
paul2437 Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 I uninstalled DCS completely then reinstalled and the polling rate of 500 was fine. After 24 hours the bug was back. I am using an old Logitech G402 mouse I think I am missing something as the bug is random.
eror85 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I would like to add some new information. Unfortunately i have to replace my previous mouse (it was a steelseries rival 3, and its only working with 250Hz, so with 500hz its stutters). I brought a razer deathadder v3... and in synapse i left mouse polling rate at 1000 hz... just in casem and you know, why not. Everything just working fine, and i tested it for i dont know... 4 days now. It seems not every type of mouses suffer with this issue. 1
paul2437 Posted October 22 Author Posted October 22 Hi All After a lot of testing changing to a different mouse pc settings etc the stuttering is still there until I alt tab out of DCS then go back in or come out of DCS completely and hope for the best. I don't think mouse polling is the issue I think its CPU related-what I do not know just a best guess.
Flia Posted October 22 Posted October 22 It might be worth trying different USB ports on your PC. dutchili Posted Friday at 09:06 AM Posted Friday at 09:06 AM Could this issue relate to HOTAS inputs too? (perhaps ED can answer from a code-level conclusion)
paul2437 Posted Sunday at 12:41 PM Author Posted Sunday at 12:41 PM It could be I use a warthog throttle with an AVA base and TPR T rudder pedals there could be a conflict somewhere. But I don;t want to go down that rabbit hole. I have to restart DCS world normally about 3 or 4 times for the stuttering to stop.
DrShaw Posted yesterday at 04:58 PM Posted yesterday at 04:58 PM Ah yes, this bug is alive and well. Happens to me with a Glorious Gaming Model D mouse on every polling rate from 250hz, to 500hz, to 1000hz. I haven't done all the testing with 125hz yet. It happens on roughly ~40-45% of my game launches. It's an easy test: I launch the game, wait 2.5 minutes for it to get to the main menu, enable the DCS FPS counter and move the mouse around.. if the CPU activity spikes and FPS drops, I just quit the game and re-launch. Sometimes have to do it 2-3 times but usually not more than that. No rhyme or reason or common thread I can ascertain. Nothing in logs. Doesn't matter if I launch and do nothing else but wait for the game to appear or if I open other programs during the game loading. Or if I'm browsing the web while it's launching. Doesn't matter what other open programs I have. Doesn't matter if it's a fresh reboot or anything else in all my testing. Just appears to be totally random.
