Gun Jam Posted yesterday at 06:24 AM Posted yesterday at 06:24 AM Ive got this running pretty well using the latest PP software. There are some issues to work out but my first question 1) DFR and pimax eyetracking is awesome. It actually calibrates no problem and tracking seems almost flawless even when lifting up the headset to type something, it seems to track perfect after putting it back on. 2) The question is the square in the center of the FOV when using DFR. I thought this was just in the mirror window I didn't realize it was visible in the headset. I wish it would go away, it looks like a debug feature to check if DFR and eye tracking is working. Are we stuck with it? Why does it exist (what causes it) why dont I see it in the dcs menu? if it cant be removed can it be reduced? I find it pretty distracting. Thanks! 1

It is more visible in certain lighting conditions. It’s annoying. Some say if you turn off certain effects in DCS graphics menu it goes away. Not in front of my PC right now so I don’t remember what it is. But anyway - turning off that feature didn’t help me. 1 System 1: Intel I9 13900K, ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC, 32 GB RAM@6000Mhz. I don’t have this bug when using MSFS 2024’s Quadviews. 1 System 1: Intel I9 13900K, ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC, 32 GB RAM@6000Mhz. Gun Jam Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Ohh okay. I should ask the guys with the VR1 if they notice it. I'm hoping at some point it can be resolved. People are losing their **** over mura and prospective buyers are totally freaking out worried its a deal breaker and then everyone failing to notice this huge square in the center of their FOV? why am I the first to discuss this... where were all the pro reviewers on this topic... oh yeah spending time worrying about mura Edited 16 hours ago by Gun Jam

My headset is absolutely fine! But since the Quadviews square bug in DCS is not the headsets fault I guess it is not mentioned as much in Pimax Crystal reviews. I have seen YouTube review mention it though. It is also discussed here on the forum. It’s not as visible on the OG Crystal - probably because the OG Crystal is not as bright? I hope it gets fixed though. I tend to forget about it after a while. Edited 16 hours ago by Peedee System 1: Intel I9 13900K, ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC, 32 GB RAM@6000Mhz. Gun Jam Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Yeah the mura thing is blown out of proportion. I see it but its not a problem its about 10x less noticeable vs the square, which is why I thought it was funny. Lets worry about this nothing item and totally ignore a very noticeable visual anomaly Im still really impressed with the eye tracking thats a huge win a 10/10 so far.. So thats awesome! 1
