Vera_Pi Posted August 26 Posted August 26 With Pimax Play Sharpness, DCS looks sharper. See the effect in DCS here: Pimax Play Sharpness On & OFF in DCS on the Pimax Crystal Super 1 1
oCMANo Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Agreed. Updated my post on the sharpness. PImax did a good job on their implementation in the last Pimax Play software update. 3 ASUS TUF Gaming GT501 White Edition Mid-Tower Compute, Intel Core i9-13900K, ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero, MSI Suprim GeForce RTX 5090 32GB , CORSAIR DOMINATOR 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5600, Corsair HX Series, HX1200, 1200 Watt, CORSAIR CW-9060058-WW iCUE H100i, 2X SAMSUNG 980 PRO Heatsink M.2 2280 2TB

jnr4817 Posted Monday at 04:53 PM Posted Monday at 04:53 PM (edited) Are you using any DCS sharpness with PP? Edited Monday at 04:54 PM by jnr4817 9800x3d|64 GB 6200|4090|m.2 x2 http://www.blacksharkden.com/ Come join us!
miguelaco Posted Monday at 06:09 PM Posted Monday at 06:09 PM (edited) Actually, depending on your configuration, there are now 3 places to setup sharpness: Pimax Play: it works only in VR and it's applied to the entire fov DCS: it works both in VR and 2D and also applied to the entire fov mbucchia's Quadviews Foveated: it works only in VR and it is only applied to the foveated region I would like to do some tests, but my feeling is that if you enable it in PP, it's not a good practice to enable it in DCS at the same time. I have my doubts with mbucchia's QV. Any thoughts or recommendations on where should we set sharpness to achieve better quality or performance? Edited Monday at 06:10 PM by miguelaco

I turned it to 0 in DCS and in mbucchia's QV. Seems to work great that way. 2 1 ASUS TUF Gaming GT501 White Edition Mid-Tower Compute, Intel Core i9-13900K, ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero, MSI Suprim GeForce RTX 5090 32GB , CORSAIR DOMINATOR 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5600, Corsair HX Series, HX1200, 1200 Watt, CORSAIR CW-9060058-WW iCUE H100i, 2X SAMSUNG 980 PRO Heatsink M.2 2280 2TB

Papamiraculi Posted Tuesday at 07:48 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:48 AM In Pimax' Crystal Super settings guide for DCS they recommend using the sharpening of NVidia GPU upscaling. https://pimax.com/de/pages/pimax-crystal-super-the-ultimate-dcs-setup-guide?_s=_s-l-f Does the sharpness slider in Pimax Play replace, override or mirror the sharpness slider of the GPU upscaling settings in Nvidia Control Panel? 1 1

The "PIMAX" settings you talk about are by 100 % the ones from Tally Mouse guide. Even the not necessary "Eye Tracking Switch" is enabled, who only causes issues with XRNeckSafer and does nothing for the Eye Tracking. There is no need for the Nvidia sharpening.
