Losing Power

Does anyone else have issues keeping the P-47 in the air? 

Whenever I perform an instant mission, the plane loses power and descends. For example, in the instant mission, 'Train Strafe', I will make one pass on the train then I cannot regain any altitude and I crash into a hillside.

Also, during free flight I cannot seem to correctly trim the aircraft.

I have no similar issues when I fly the A-10.

Am I just doing something stupid?

Trim pretty sensitive, but once u get the hang of it, fairly easy and it flies great!
