Icedragon122 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 hi guys, im currently in the nazaran valley mission in the Deployment campaign. I began my hover around the top of the mountain and had a clear view of the entire village. My one problem was that i was picking out targets, and trying to send them to my nav map through the data link. All radios switches enabled, my Id was switched to 1 and in CMDR mode. data link power also engaged. My question is what am i doing wrong>? I lock a target through shval, press vehicle (since its a BTR, im assuming vehicle) press 1 and press send/clear button. My nav map shows nothing.... So i send my wingman out and he sends me a slew of targets. I recieve them and press send/clear and they all appear on my nav map. Now i have about 5 anti air and about 2 vehicles down there all on my nav map. I press the anti-air button and it lights up, press it again to try to cycle through them, and it turns off. My targets on my nav map never light up to cycle through, and my wingman does not recieve any data linked targets. I can press the vehicle button and id #2 to send them to him, but he never recieves them. They show up on my nav but i can niether put them on there myself or cycle through them. anyone know what i am doing wrong? i watched the videos on how to use it and i put everything in. its probably a simple explanation or im just the cause :megalol: Thx in advance for any help! -Brian
Feuerfalke Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) If you have multiple symbols and want to send one of them, you first press the according symbol, then the teammate or "all" then repeatedly the button with the symbol you want to send as many times as needed until your symbol is chosen. Then press send. nemises Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Hi IceDragon,. To save a target to your own datalink use the following: 1) lock target in Shkvla (make sure laser is on for range info) 2) press the appropriate target type on the datalink 3) press "send mem" to store that target Do not press "1" to send it to yourself.
Icedragon122 Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 so, once i have stored it to my ABRIS then i can select it, then press the 2 button for my wingman and send it to him? i cant just send it to him w/o storing it on my system first?
Eddie Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 i cant just send it to him w/o storing it on my system first? No, you need to store the DL point first, then you can send it.
STP Dragon Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 So again: 1. Lock the target (TA on the shkval + range) 2. Press the target symbol 3. Save it in the ABRIS (Symbol appear) This you can do many times. 4. Select the target which you want to send with the target-symbol-button. The selected target is flashing on the ABRIS. If you have more then one targets of the same kind, you have to press the target-symbol-button many times. 5. Select the wingman number you want to send to. (or ALL). 6. Press SEND/MEM to send it. Marge Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 A little point relative with this post: sometimes there will be many targets on the ABRIS and it's confusing; is it possible to clear all these targets from the ABRIS? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
STP Dragon Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Yes. Select the target so the icon is flashing in the ABRIS and press CLEAR (yellow button) Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK
nemises Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 ALSO , remember, it is usually necessary to "Reset" between saving a target on Abris/datalink, and sending that target....just the way the system is. Don't panic though, as it is easy to slew your Shkval back to the saved point by using the "ingress" button
STP Dragon Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 ALSO , remember, it is usually necessary to "Reset" between saving a target on Abris/datalink, and sending that target....just the way the system is. That's wrong! I can send a target while I have still lockt it. nemises Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 yeah, it's flakey at best I've found ... often times after saving a target, I then need to reset before beeing able to scroll through multiple targets in order to send / ingress them. ...might just be me though ?

Martillo1 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 so, once i have stored it to my ABRIS then i can select it, then press the 2 button for my wingman and send it to him? i cant just send it to him w/o storing it on my system first? Yes you can. Page 11-8 (396) of the manual: When handing off target data to a flight member(s) without first creating a target on the ABRIS, (i.e. using Shkval tracking) leave the target type button unpressed, press intended recipient number, and then press the "ПРД/ПАМ" (Send/Memory) button on the Data Link Panel. The coordinates on the ground where the Shkval is locked will be sent to the recipient(s). Vista, Suerte y al Toro! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DanKurt Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 That's wrong! I can send a target while I have still lockt it. Well I disagree. I can only send data once the Shkval has been reset so I have no idea how you are doing it!:music_whistling:
