Sprool Posted Thursday at 06:39 PM Posted Thursday at 06:39 PM (edited) Im struggling with the HMD in VR, its way too high up. If I go through the alignment procedure, on the ground (cold start) or in the air (hot start) it still ends up way too high so I end up looking out the cockpit with my chin on my chest to move the hmd centre to pick a target. Can it be shifted downwards?null Screenshot shows me looking straight ahead before and after alignment Edited Thursday at 06:58 PM by Sprool
Sprool Posted Thursday at 06:59 PM Author Posted Thursday at 06:59 PM I should add - this is the Quest 3
speed-of-heat Posted Thursday at 07:32 PM Posted Thursday at 07:32 PM bind a button to Center VR headset? it's NumPad 5 by default. Sprool Posted Thursday at 09:06 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:06 PM (edited) I have a button bound for that, it centres the cockpit view, the HMD remains annoyingly high up, its linked tot he headset spacial position, not aligned with the cockpit. Edited Thursday at 09:07 PM by Sprool
speed-of-heat Posted yesterday at 04:51 AM Posted yesterday at 04:51 AM Have you ever fiddled with views.lua ? Any mods installed? Sprool Posted yesterday at 01:43 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:43 PM Never touched views.lua. No mods concerning F-18. What is interesting is if I align hmd in flat screen mode it all works fine, right int he centre of view as i look around with the mouse. When I do same in VR the HMD display remains elevated about 25 degrees too high, and changing cockpit camera viewpoint doesnt alter that.
Sprool Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Well a kind person on Redditt posted a workaround, which means you have to remove the black visor thing that blocks out the light, then on the Quest 3 and Bobovr halo head strap it allows the lenses to be rotated down a small amount to bring the hMD centre back into alignment. Takes a little bit of gtting used to, flying without the visor, but at least I have a VR HMD that can be used.
speed-of-heat Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago that's just strange ... no wonder i couldn't work out what was wrong if it was hardware specific .. glad you got it "working" SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
